Welcome to 0.19.3! (programming.dev)
submitted 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) by Ategon@programming.dev to c/meta@programming.dev

We upgraded to 0.19.3 which should fix a bunch of bugs including the need for us to restart the servers every day

  • The site now receives reports from mastodon and kbin
  • Admins can see votes in the UI (could previously do so within the database but this makes it easier to moderate votes)
  • Post views have a secondary sort of published date added so things that have the hot rank of 0 arent returned randomly
  • Max title is based on chars (previously it was bytes)
  • Mastodon federation (aka posts showing up when people follow the community in mastodon) has been fixed

Admins can see votes in the UI

Do you mean that Admin's can see which accounts voted and what the vote from that account was on each post and comment?

Yeah. Shows people in a list with an up or down arrow beside each of them (downvotes hoisted to the top). Helps make it easier to stop vote manipulation. People can theoretically spin up an instance to get who upvoted or downvoted but they could anyways in the database

I'm a mod on homeimprovement@lemmy.world, and I still don't see any reports from there (or from any of the communities from other intances that I'm a mod on). Would that ever get fixed?

homeimprovement@lemmy.world

Lemmy.world is still on 0.18.5 so that might be causing issues. Hopefully, 0.19.3 is something they can upgrade to.

That makes sense, thanks

Its already been fixed (if I remember the patch notes correctly from 0.19 base), they just havent upgraded yet. Been seeing cross instance moderation working better in my queue

I didn't realize they are still on 0.18. Thanks for the clarification.
