Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

With gas prices high, people in developing countries are racing to buy battery-powered bikes. The Iran war has made Trump “salesman of the year,” one executive in Pakistan said.

For almost a decade I have thought of getting one. But I just use a pedal bike instead as I can take that on bike routes.

Would love some kind of in between vehicle that can still use bus lanes but go a bit faster than cycling. Can't do it legally though, ebikes are limited to 25kmh here. I'm often cycling faster than that, other than when I am stuck in traffic anyway.

It seems inane to me that there is no legal space in most countries between a "pedelec" with a maximum speed of 25km/h and a full motorbike or car with a maximum speed of 200km/h.

There should be more in between vehicle categories that you can take on slow city/local roads but not highways or freeways.

Jumps from 250w 25kmh to 4kW 45kmh here as the limits. With the first being the same as a pedal bike, the second is mostly the same rules as any other motorbike.

I own an electric motorcycle and I love it. I use it more than my ICE motorcycle. The one problem is still with the battery technology. Not all electric bikes have the same charging capacities and I can't think of a single one that can utilize DC fast chargers. I think its the biggest hurdle right now for electric motorcycles.

Motorcycles use a small enough battery that I'd expect to see a lot more battery swap, since you ought to be able to pick it up and make the exchange.

I'd argue that battery swaps are a bit inconvenient and not the ideal solution in my opinion. I'd much rather someone find a way to charge quicker.

The only motorcycle that I know which had quick swapping abilities is the Zero FX for some years. Which is cool for taking out on the trails but these batteries are heavy man, for only like 3.6 KW, which is only like 30 miles or less for those models.

P.S: I own a Zero FX, just not the one that you could swap batteries on.

That website is fucking insufferable. Even reader mode failed me. Better link, please?
