I feel like it will happen, probably around the same size as the original tie in, maybe a bit smaller.
I would think it depends entirely on how popular S2 is.

The first season patch dropped the same day as the show premiered though.
I kinda hope so.
In the original Cyberpunk tabletop game, you could be a Media. There are a couple shown in the game. The one in Johnny's flashback is the one we all remember. There was a Regina mission featuring one as well. We overlook the hell out of these guys, but in the tabletop game, they were a valid class. There being one in Edgerunners II excites me for the possibilities. Oh, IIRC that one guy who wanted you to infiltrate that body shop... pretty sure he was one, too. So they were just side characters. I'd like to see more.

It's a new story with new characters in the same universe.
Night City is full of people.
They all have their own stories.
I think Orion will be in another city so probably the anime will be in another city
If it's not in Night City, it's not Cyberpunk™. It's just cyberpunk.
The cyberpunk universe created by Mike Pondsmith is huge and equally cool, I think it'd be a waste not to explore more parts of it
