No transportation systems were made for some of these conditions. Yes, rails will expand and cause problems, and planes sometimes are grounded due to extreme heat (as in the case of Pheonix, Arizona last year when it hit 122F). Adapting is good, but best is to prioritize the forms of transportation that don't make it actively worse.
