Reddit is now in my 'forget it' zone - It's nothing more than a sewer at this point. There aren't very many people on there anymore anyway. The whole platform is swimming with millions of chatbots.
News and Discussions about Reddit
Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules
Rule 1- No brigading.
**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **
YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.
Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.
**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.
Whats scary is this is the only place I've found any discussion about it. No news, no youtube vids about it, just silence all aroundd
Even logged in (with a banned account) doesn't work anymore.
Oh well, fuck spez
They killed their RSS feeds too for old.reddit.com (still works on some regular reddit urls like https://reddit.com/r/games.rss)
I get redirected when I'm logged in but not when I'm not. Mobile still works but I don't think I've logged in again on my phone since it broke so I may be on borrowed time there. My accounts been banned for years and I only use it for porn anyway so no big loss there.
You’re not really losing much of value there, Reddit was set on its enshittification course for years.
Agreed. I'm actually quite glad.
You can't read reddit without logging in, but IME you can't actually register an account without it getting instantly silent-banned either, unless you're using a non-anonymous mail or connection.
The only problem is that I still have the muscle memory of quickly typing reddit when opening a browser, but given that's now entirely pointless, that should fade sooner rather than later.
Shame about the smaller communities, like /r/panelshow which despite all its flaws was still useful for pirating those shows. Guess I'll have to go find it elsewhere.

Libredirect should get that solved for you, for now.
Nah, I'm retraining myself.
"To keep reddit safe"... Lololol
Safe from people scraping it and proving how damn robotic a lot of their content is these days no less.

Fixed your comment.
SERIOUSLY!?! Well Reddit can Fuckit!
Oh my dudeski, they have somehow effectively blocked me from accessing the site AT ALL! It doesn't matter what browser I use, I keep getting a redirect error and can't even access the site. These idiots went FULL NUCLEAR on a good majority of its base just a day after going on the S&P market. They really fucked the whole users and the idea of what Reddit WAS about!
Maybe it's time I launch magazines on mbin for all the other r/communities that I liked, hoping at least some of those pick up.
I have noted it too, I mainly used to browse /r/bestofredditorupdates in the mornings, and noted that when I was traveling to last week that it was blocked in Switzerland, when I got home I could access it for a few days, but I'd already detoxed from it, so I wasn't that interested anymore, and now it is blocked here in Sweden as well.
To keep Reddit safe. Not users on Reddit safe.
You're already here, but look into browsing through a redlib frontend for other reddit things you need
Same here, I started to use old reddit when it became impossible to search content in a specific subreddit (search basically searched all of reddit and on top of that, you get an AI search).
Guess no more accessing some game specific subreddits for me.
Redlib my man. Self host for the best experience.
same here. worked with phone cellular for a while after my home/work net got blocked, but now that's gone as well..
new reddit anonymous access is incredibly annoying because it gives a popup every few seconds
It's annoying when you're logged in too. That site is hot garbage.
Use desktop mode on your phone. It won't pop up.
I meant on desktop
There have been many migrations from one site to another, I don't think this will be same as the big digg exodus.
I can still access old w/o being logged on. It will block me if I use a private window though. Browse w/o interaction and eats up bandwidth. F'em
