- Wait at least 2 months before reposting
- No explicitly political content (about political figures, political events, elections and so on), !politicalmemes@lemmy.ca can be better place for that
- Use NSFW marking accordingly
Laittakaa meemejä tänne.
- Odota ainakin 2 kuukautta ennen meemin postaamista uudelleen
- Ei selkeän poliittista sisältöä (poliitikoista, poliittisista tapahtumista, vaaleista jne) parempi paikka esim. !politicalmemes@lemmy.ca
- Merkitse K18-sisältö tarpeen mukaan
Well, they are uncountable
Thank goodness you're here, none of us would've ever figured out what this meant otherwise.
Thank goodness you're here sonwe can all feel superior about being wrong.
Any time, champ.
Maybe the ads themselves are smaller in size? It could be both less of an ad and fewer.
Where actual piracy sites have less regional restrictions than official stores.
Its amazing what can be done when you ignore local censorship and classification rules.
PeerTube FTW
This. PeerTube is the best solution we have.
The fact that piracy websites are more straight forward and more user-friendly.. Tells a lot about the shit services out there.
there also mroe than a handful of them, as opposed to YT.
and I allow it because they are doing god's work
I use a site that has 0 ads, has basically everything I can think of, and has a better UI than every streaming service. There are some minor issues, such as episodes being out of place and some content servers being unreliable. It's no replacement for a home media server, but I'd gladly suffer 3 minutes of troubleshooting if it meant avoiding even 5 seconds of ads
5 seconds? When was the last time you used YouTube?!
I block ads and sponsors on yt, I don't remember the last time I listened to an ad there
For me the last time was when I accidentally clicked a youtube vid in discord instead of opening it in the browser. Killed that shit so fast
YouTube free you mean.
YouTube premium is still one of the few paid sites that are ad free.
How is YouTube premium a free site? Free paid site? What in the oxymoron is tuhat?
Sorry it's few*
Oh right, makes more sense :D
Only first party ads, less first party promotions.
This is so so true.
youtube != just movies/tv shows
if it was we'd all probably be happier
Turns out lack of regulation is a double-edged sword.
On the one hand, the quality of pirate sites varies wildly - with some being virus infested hellholes.
On the other hand, there's no legal bullshit to get in the way of them providing their service. Their competition can't easily just cut them off from content.
And because they're operating privately rather than publically, they're incentivised to operate sustainably rather than chase quarterly profits - which oftentimes benefits their "customers"
