So this is why companies like Google complying yesterday is wrong.
Trump is a rapist, when you say yes heβll only ask for more and more and more.
So I again say: boycott any US company complying and enabling this degenerate.

He does realize America is this entire continent, right?
.... Right?
He named Lake Ontario Lake America and thought he was making a point ... so no.
He could name it Lake New York, but oh wait, he's antagonizing a lot of the states as well while asking for other countries to become one.
Although at first i thought it was silly pointing this out, come to think of it, Trump probably does not know the name of the continent.
What continent is named America? We are in North America and then there is South America. I don't know of a continent just called America or am I missing something?
Continents aren't consistent.
Some places teach that "America" is one continent, others teach that "North America" and "South America" are separate, and I have even heard someone claim that "North America", "South America", and "Central America" are each their own thing.
Wikipedia has a chart for the most common divisions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continent#Number
Where I was kind of going with this is north America/south America. Two halves of America. Neither is one country.
Like it's literally in his countries name. United States of America π€£
But wait! There's more! Another more recent "truth" posting today:
https://trumpstruth.org/statuses/41405
For many years, the USA has been losing more than 60 Billion Dollars a year with Canada. Why??? Our long ago stolen businesses are now coming back to America in order to avoid paying tariffs. They are lining up, just like the rest of the World!!! President DJT
He seriously thinks a trade deficit with Canada means Canada is ripping off the USA.
Make it make sense.
Doesn't have to make sense or be true. All it has to do is get firms moving capital out of Canada. Well not that statement by itself, but the threats to relevant firms' bottom lines. The mfker needs a win for the midterms, some win.
Trump assuming that the world revolves around the U.S. (and by extension him) is symbolic of the dangerously nationalistic mentality that fuels his far-right base.
His assumption is that everyone has to do business with the US. It ignores that we can do business with each other, and there are many more of us than there are Americans. It is what Xinnie the Pooh et al. realized ~25 years ago.
E.G. If Canada makes its own cars, that is a 15.5 billion dollar market the US loses.
Because if we don't our quality of life drips. America is the biggest market in the world, by a lot. Their is no one to replace them with. Same reason Nvidia wants access to China, second largest market. You cannot replace them.
Sure you can. In a year Canada went from 75% exports to the US to 65% and our economy is doing great, GDP is up, inflation is down.
Canada can sell to Europe, whose purchasing power is the same as the US, as well as to Japan and South Korea, who both have huge populations and critical needs for exactly what Canada offers.
The notion that any one country is "irreplaceable" as an end market is just not true anymore.
Because it does. Where does most of the world get their tech from? And American companies are every where and everyone wants access to their markets. Americans consume a ton and that is why people want them. Why do you think no one has stood up to them and they keep giving in. Say what you want it sure seems like the world does revocle around them.
He forgot that he started the tariffs? Dementia is a bitch.
But... He just put even more tariffs. Is he still not aware of how tariffs work?
Absolutely not!
He is saying companies should move manufacturing to the US to avoid those tariffs.
But the companies selling those goods don't pay the tariffs, so how does going to the US avoid tariffs? It would stop the importers/consumers from paying the tariffs, right? Plus, he's waged tariff wars on every fucking country on the planet. Manufacturing anything in the US would mean paying more tariffs for any material a company would import.
Your goods are less competitive if they're tariffed, do you really need me to explain this or are you just pretending not to understand?
So the effects of the tariff, not the tariff itself.
Correct. Except when writing for legal and scientific purposes, most people are imprecise with language and you have to infer what they actually meant. This is a completely normal part of communication, though it comes more naturally for neurotypicals.
Or maybe their president is a dumbass who lies all the time. Maybe.
It's not useful to pretend to misunderstand people because you don't like them.
It's also useless to protect a pedophile president who is lying about not having tariffs once in the US.
If Jeffry Epstein's best friend says the sun will rise tomorrow, nobody is protecting him when they say you seem dumb as hell for acting like you don't understand he means the sun will only appear to rise and is infact caused by the earth rotating instead of the sun literally changing its altitude.
Except "the sun will rise" is an actual expression and "there are no tariffs" is absolutely NOT the same thing as "you won't suffer the consequences from the tariffs" and it's not how it's common speak that neurotypicals find it easy to understand. It's just wrong.
I'm not trying to misunderstand. I only mentioned it because he kept saying Canada will pay for the tariffs in the past even though it is the citizens that have to pay for it. He does it all the time to mislead his base or he sincerely doesn't understand how tariffs work. As a president of a country, no matter how much of a shithole, you'd think speaking clearly would be a baseline requirement.
The relevant info for the companies is "If manufacture in America, you won't have to pay the tariff", the alternative, literal interpretation you insist he means, but is lying about, "If companies manufacture in America, we will stop tariffing Canada" is nonsensical enough that anyone who is neurotypical would immediately understand only the first meaning. This isn't one of the many examples of 'the peace president' who started a war with Iran lying, this is just you being intentionally or unintentionally obtuse.
Except even that statement would likely not be true unless all of your materials can be sourced domestically within the US.
As there are few countries without tariffs in the US, moving your manufacturing there would actually increase the amount of tariffs you are paying instead of reducing. No matter which way you look at it, his statement is incorrect and as the other commenter noted, it's either on purpose to mislead his base, or simply the result of his lack of understanding of how tariffs actually work.
I guess I hold politicians to a higher (still very low) standard than you. That's on me.
Trump seems to be still angry with nasty Canada. Renaming Lake Ontario wasn't enough for him.
When you have such small hands, there is no end to the compensation required.
It's funny, he claims to be 6 foot 3 inches or some shit, and 235 pound or something, (300 in truth,) and his real height is like 5 foot ten or less. Maybe he shrunk some as old people do, but he's been lying about his weight and height for a very long time. Because he's a vain bitch. But that's one of his better qualities. Fucking die already bitch seriously. Just fucking die prez, we all hate you. Your name will be torn down from everywhere, and synonymous with gangsters and graft and corruption.
i would love that. he'd be the first genocidal American leader to not get posthumously lionized
when the competent fascists come (after the next Obama-style bipartisan guy), and me and all the people i care about are forced in a long line, when I'm standing in that long line waiting to die, soldiers flanking us, even I'm probably going to miss Donald J Trump and his stupid decisions and his ineffectual, childish leadership style, and inability to comprehend what people round him are saying and doing, and I'll laugh to myself that so many people, apprentice fans and WWE fans and movie enjoyers and plain old dummies thought he should be president.
Copy-pasta from another thread in regards to thinking this is just dementia talk:
Lots wrong with him but I don't think this move isn't crazy or wrong from the perspective of his material interest. He's sending a message to parts of capital that aren't under his thumb / he isn't under theirs, that he'll hit their bottom line unless they materially pledge allegiance. He's trying to engineer capital flight from Canada that could hurt us enough to get us to fall in line and allow resource and market access to his side of capital to exploit and profit from our labour and natural resources. Would it work? I hope not but I wouldn't disregard the possibility.
If he's serious about this, we might see him manufacture some terrorism or drugs excuse to slap massive tariffs, perhaps even sanctions on us. As his chances of losing the senate and the house in 2 months keep growing, this shit is getting more and more about his survival, so I think the chance that this is not hot air is growing.
And it's already happening according to KPMG:
The survey of 275 manufacturers finds that 57 per cent say they have paused, reduced or cancelled capital expenditure projects due to economic uncertainty and trade and tariff threats, while 42 per cent have scaled back or paused research and development spending. More than half (52 per cent) say they are currently operating in βendurance mode.β ... 42 per cent say they have already moved production to the U.S. or are considering doing so
- 29 per cent have moved some or all production
- 13 per cent have not yet moved production but plan to move some or all; of those considering relocation, 77 per cent expect to move within two years
Lies, lies , lies
