I went "overkill" on my build 10 years ago with 32GB of RAM for $170. Now they're going for $350.

Ddr4 prices are affected too? I thought it was only 5
DDR3 and DDR2 prices are also trending upwards. There was an article a month or two back about how used DDR2 was up 60%.

My 128GB DDR4 Corsair kit went up to like 900
18 months ago I upgraded my very old build one last time. I think the thread where I was asking about it should be in my history, actually. As part of that, I grabbed 16GB of no-name DDR4 for $22. It was almost an afterthought. That exact same pair of sticks is now listed at $104.
Q4 2025 I bought 2x 128gb for my servers. For 800 moneyz. Now it's between 4400 and 6600...If I'd sell them now i could buy a shitty used car for it. Or even a rtx5090. Jeez. It's not fun anymore.
I just sold 2x8Gb of G.Skill DDR4 RAM for only 60€ so I guess I was way below market. I don't really mind because I mostly wanted to get rid of it and help someone get cheaper RAM in doing so. Hopefully the buyer won't try to speculate to make a lot of money off of someone else…
Doesn't make sense, why sell anything below market, especially when you have 0 idea who bought it? Charity I understand, but this ain't it boss.
I sold it at this amount when I saw offers for the same RAM model around 60€. I don't get why they would be so much lower than many other offers though.
Cheapskates lowballing to resell later.
WD Red Plus 10TB NAS HDD in January 2022 cost 229 each. Today they are 640 new, or 500 new for the 10TB Red Pro. I had intended to upgrade size around now or before long, but the now largest 26TB Red Pro are 1150 each!
Heheh yep. I just RMAd a Corsair set of 2x16s and saw the same when I had to pull up the receipt.
My 32gb kit went from 107 to 599 😭
I bought 32GB of DDR4 RAM for cheap (even for the time) just before the prices really started skyrocketing. They only had a few extras in stock and I strongly considered buying them out and trying to resell them. If I'd done so I could probably retire by now.
