Bernie fucked himself. Look, I love Bernie and have been a fan of his since the 90's but his staff choices were awful and their behavior toward people they wanted assistance from was just stupid.
I never considered Bernie skilled enough to be president, still don't. He's great at getting people fired up, but organizationally, he's a mess and I think he would have set the progressive movement back by failing spectacularly as president. Especially with a still entrenched Democratic establishment.
We have to take the party from the ground up. It's the only way.
It's hard to ignore all the political candidates that came in to dilute the votes and then only to drop out. If it was a horse race, I would say it looked very fixed.
And yet he could've negotiated with Warren for one of them to drop out.
You're kind of making op's point- he's not politically savvy.
That's true, he didn't want to play ball when he could have played along and backstabbed them all if he got elected.
Abdul is running a great race. The biggest weakness he has is that some democrat voters will (unjustly) find him "too radical."
This seems like a good move to make sure the old guard isn't scared off come election day.
This isn't Abdul endorsing Kamala, it's the other way around.

I love the video of Gillibrand coming out of some Democrat meeting, I think it was all senators, gritting her teeth while smiling saying, "we're going to fight hard for El Sayed".

she wants to maintain relevance, and El-Sayed probably wants to try and reach the people that thinks she's still relevant.
Yeah, everyone can see the cynicism Kamala is trying for here. She wants a little of that progressive popularity to rub off on her to continue her political career. The silver lining here is that Kamala, representing the Establishment Democrats, sees where the wind is blowing. The Establishment Dems are realizing that they're gonna have to go leftwards of they wanna remain politically relevant, so we gotta keep pushing left while they are on the back foot.
She needs to make sure the Dems never actually get any power, and can just continue to grief the GOP as they cash in as a hapless opposition.
