After burning away my entire weekend trying to get this together and also juggle life, I've finally got my machine back together. First glass was at least drinkable, just need to tune it a bit more I think.

The rest of the scale parts just finished printing. Need to get it all assembled and calibrated, but I'm happy to use my Acaia Lunar until then.

I received a defective touch screen, half the screen doesn't respond to touch. Still waiting to hear back from the supplier on if they'll send me a replacement. Thankfully, the web interface works perfectly fine for now.

Also, please ignore the stack of dirty dishes and unkempt counter. I was really going crazy trying to get this thing figured at some points. I should have just done custom wiring harness. It would have been so much simpler.

I use a breville, and a dual wall cup.

Never did get super deep into coffee science, measuring the water/bean ratio with respect to extraction time etc etc. Though maybe I could in the future.

I have access to an entire breville that has a bad motherboard, I've thought about converting it in this way. It would be fun to do, but would I benefit in any way other than the experience of doing it?

What benefits do you personally get from this?

Out of curiosity, what made you choose the Gagguino over the Gaggimate?

I felt that Gagguino would give me more customizability down the road. I was also already familiar with Arduino type projects and thought it'd be a rewarding experience. I think I like the size and placement of the screen better than the Gaggimate. I also expect to mount the screen to the side of a cabinet sometime in the future

I love the black GCP. Mine is the silver/stainless which I also really like, but there’s something about that all black that’s just gorgeous.

I love the lights too. I want to get into modding mine more, this gave me some ideas. Thank you!

Or you can do half-and-half with the help of some automotive vinyl. Bought this Silvia a few years ago. Made in 2007 so this vinyl covered up most of her scars. 🤭

Search for gaggiuino, there’s a GitHub repo with very detailed instructions and a pretty big help community around it. I’m desperate to find the time to do mine!
