It’s not clear what part of the U.S. government paid for the spot, which includes background music with singers crooning “love me” over and over. The White House did not immediately return a request for comment. Neither did Fox News or Newsmax.

Looking forward to watching DOJ lawyers eat shit again when they try to fight the inevitable FOIA request they just brought on themselves with this stupid stunt

But, hey, at least they got to run a couple of ads on Fox News and Newsmax, they're definitely going to turn things around for themselves by getting that audience on their side /s

singers crooning “love me” over and over.

His mommy and daddy issues run very deep, don't they?

The DOJ get paid very handsomely for the feces feast they are hired to endure.

Best I can do is a protracted court case that basically boils down to "US government vs. US government" and ends up costing both sides far more money than was actually spent on the ad. Eventually, it will result in a court order that the administration is not allowed to do that ... an order that the administration will ignore without consequence.

I want a refund for the YEARS I spent in school learning about our checks and balances.

[–] fulcrummed@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Presumably also a waste of government money.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 2 points 6 days ago

Judging by spelling: yes. ;-)

Also, least likely a waste, more likely a grift.

The White House said in a statement the ad is “educational and unapologetically patriotic.”

LOL they're getting around this by pretending it's a PSA. It's not enough to abuse the office to make billions of dollars but now you want to steal $14k to run a fucking campaign ad.

Conservatives need to be excluded from society. Completely. They are pure evil.

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 24 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I'm starting to think it needs to be like post Nazi Germany, all the ideology needs to be outlawed

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.today 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I agree 100%.

I had a similar comment removed because of "civility". Wtf? Conservatives have never been "civil" in all of human history, thus the need to exclude them from modern civilization.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

If money is speech then I'm reasonably sure that bullets are speech too.

[–] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.today 4 points 6 days ago

I agree. Ammo will be money in the upcoming conservative apolcalypse. So let's use some of that speech to convince conservatives to stop being.

[–] Bbbbbbbbbbb@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yes, and also wall off a large section of the SE into its own, separate country

I don't think you want to do that for the simple reason that there are still plenty of impoverished black people living in those areas (because that's where their family comes from... because their ancestors were slaves), and giving MAGAts an entire swath of the southeast full of minorities to abuse who are probably too poor to leave just sounds like a roundabout way to revive the CSA.

No, these people need serious deprogramming, therapy, jailtime and/or even guillotining for the ringleaders; not their own fiefdom to inflict more terror on others.

Personally I'm for a more Shermanistic methods at least for Alabama. Hell one of my best friends is a Sherman we can have him work as the figure head.

Since the US has a history of bombing socialist countries, does that mean they will bomb themselves?

[–] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 13 points 6 days ago

Traitor to the nation. Americans nees to get mentally militant about their democratic integrity. And before ppl start whining about, "blah blah it's never been a democracy, they're all the same, yadda yadda", it's also about time Americans deal with that too. Democracy should be your most preciously held civic value and you should defend the fucking thing you're not nations design was constructed to enable.

Fortunately nobody watches TV, but he shouldn't be able to just flush US tax dollars down the drain

[–] xyguy@startrek.website 1 points 2 days ago

People still watch sports. And Fox sports is still a major thing.

Old people love watching local news, will carry these commercials
