But with regard to the Taurus missiles, Scholz has been adamant that a climbdown would be difficult. One possible opening would be if the U.S. sends more if its ATACMS ballistic missiles to Kyiv, as Berlin has tended to move one pace behind Washington when it comes to arming Ukraine.

I suspect that for the US, sending more ATACMS depends heavily on how quickly PrSM is produced, as I understand that ATACMS is a weapon that has a role in a conflict with China, and the US will need PrSM to replace it.

PrSM just started being rolled out, and I'd bet that the production rate is not high.

Sounds like it.

On December 8, 2023, the US Army announced that the first PrSM has been delivered.

Lockheed Martin is expected to begin delivering the first set of EOC PrSM missiles in 2023 and then the missiles under the newly announced deal in 2024.

A full-rate production decision following the conclusion of the PrSM EMD phase is expected in 2025.
