Naomi Brockwell makes it easy and interesting to learn about how our personal lives are being spied on by potentially anybody. Share it with your friends and family so maybe one day every country won't have a social credit score or other dystopian outcomes.

This thumbnail does not inspire confidence in the quality of the content. It is a pure clickbait title screen.

Can anyone vouch for the quality of this video, other than the poster?

So is just about every video created over the last few years. This is the new norm and can no longer be used to judge a bit of content. For ~~better or~~ worst.

The video itself is a good overview of what data brokers are and what they collect on you with some ways to help mitigate this. Honestly not very big news for anyone that is already into data privacy, but it will be very eye opening for anyone that is not already aware of what they collect.

Completely agreed, and is why I asked. The vast majority of youtube videos with these clickbait title screens (let's be honest, it's basically all of them) tend to not be worth watching, to me.

I appreciate your response, specifically, "Honestly not very big news for anyone that is already into data privacy". I'm deep into data privacy as I deal with it every day in my line of work, so I was curious if this was a deep dive or high level "for noobs".

Hopefully others see value in this video! But it sounds like it isn't for me.

I'm sure it's good and she seems legit, but I fucking hate videos. A blog post I could scan and read so much faster, as well as judge its legitimacy in seconds instead of having to invest minutes of my life.

Check out her website, she's a friend of Michael Bazzell, or let her video speak for itself and just watch it

Most browser advertisement blocking extensions been blocking most of what the vid talks about.

Here is an alternative Piped link(s): https://piped.video/watch?v=GQHutNQVLgw

Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.

I'm open-source, check me out at GitHub.

You can't be 100% anonymous and free of prying eyes -- but you can (definitely) lessen its effect.

sic semper tyrannis? you're seriously referencing john wilkes booth with your username?!

Many people drive drunk and injure people but people don't stop driving because of one way the vehicle can be used for bad. Sure, JWB is associated with the phrase but the Latin phrase can also stand on it's own merits too. I'm not a supporter of JWB in any way.

Okay but it’s the first thing people will think. So, you’ll likely always be defending it. Just 2¢.

I figured as much when I created the handle.

I personally think, with Bill Gate push for Digital ID, for every single person on the internet will eventually must have a social credit score, I have no doubt this is coming.

As for this vid you shared, I want to remind people of the following browser extensions that will block majority of them, and I personally use. You can get them for firefox or chrome.
