~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

Really, it's no different from deadnaming a trans person, and they shouldn't be calling people anything other than the name they wish to be known by in the supposedly more enlightened 24th century.

They could bring him back. Star Trek: Revenants - Shaw wakes up on the black mountain and finds Jadzia. They fight the apparitions of their fathers, meet the smiling koala, and come back to kick ass.
I was thinking more along the lines of an Emergency Command Hologram for Seven aboard the Enterprise G, but since that got thrown out the window, your idea works nicely.
