Probably wasn't fitted tight enough on its pinion and the inertia from resetting it got it to move a bit. You'll have to send it to get fixed or replaced, not much you can do. The hand probably needs to be replaced if it's too loose

I do that. It's alright. I'd prefer not to do it but it beats having 2 watches. People don't care

Ask for replacement and threaten with whatever consumer rights authority you have in your country (not in a disrespectful way but remind them of the option).

Maybe they can offer you a Daytona at MSRP as an apology

It's not depreciation but rather what they are worth to the market new in the first place (like a discounted price) They are a bit underrated but aesthetically and quality wise they have all the elements of a well liked piece and my bet is they will actually appreciate over time.

Therefore I think it's a good time to get one while they don't become stupidly overpriced.
