Jamie Windsor is excellent - he is operating at a far higher level of quality and creativity than anyone else out there, in my opinion.

Never, ever, start a job without agreeing terms. If they agree, great. If they don’t, also great - you avoided a situation like this.

We are always too scared to address prices and terms and it shouldn’t be that way. It’s always good to get things clear from the start, then it can all go smoothly, or you can agree to negotiate, or you can agree that you aren’t a good fit for their needs.

Always, always, always, get agreement on the rates , times, deliverables, what’s acceptable and what’s not before you do any job.

Chalk this up and accept the €100. But not the dinner, that’s just condescending and insulting for them even to offer. Photographers are doing a job, not begging for food.

I'm thinking of buying a remarkable, but - like many tech products - the "optional" (not really optional) accessories are ridiculously priced. It's insulting to the consumer - pure price-gouging for things they know you will need.

The stylus is 12g of plastic - priced at €129. (over €1 per gram. For comparison Silver is about €0.70 per gram) The book folio is €100 - I'm guessing it's made for about €2-€3 in a factory in China.

These are marketed as "optional" but nobody is buying one with nothing to write on it, and you won't throw it in a bag without some protection.

So, here's my question - what are the most affordable Generic accessories that work well with Remarkable 2? Can I just buy the base unit and get a generic plastic stylus, and a simple cover for much less than the branded versions? Will these work?

And if there aren't cheaper versions, are there better versions?

Any recommendations?

Thanks, I’ll take a look.

I am looking for structured assignments which will help me improve my photography. I'm an experienced enthusiast - over 20 years of shooting - but I feel a bit stale recently like I've not learned anything new or looked at anything differently. Is there any assignment you have done which you felt moved the dial for you?
