*>"a moral panic" is the rod conservatives use to beat their voters into submission with.

Not just conservatives.

FTA:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams speaks during a press conference on reducing shoplifting.

Edit: Apparently I don't know shit about Eric Adams, who was not only a cop, but a supporter of the "stop and frisk" policy.

The only thing that matters is objective material evidence that one’s position is correct.

This argument may have more weight if you support it by presenting objective material evidence.

From 2021 to 2022 looks like a wash to me

A wash is not an increase.

2021: homicide+accident 21068 suicide 26328 total 47396 population estimate from census.gov: https://www.census.gov/data/datasets/time-series/demo/popest/2020s-national-total.html#v2023 332603952

2022: homicide+accident 20390 suicides 27038 total 47428 population estimate from census.gov 334025515

firearm homicides + firearm suicides / population * 100000 = rate per 100,000 2021: 14.24998101 2022: 14.19891531

You used to be able to get internet through satellite tv providers like DISH or DirectTV, but I don't know if they would be classified as an ISP or if the satellite network was acting as a repeater or relay.

Deaths have fallen from 2021 to 2022 and 2022 to 2023. They rose in the past, but do not continue to rise.

Bad headline. No source for the claim that gun violence is increasing. Not even mentioned in the body of the story.

You don't think they would throw Trump under the bus if they thought it might take some of the heat off them?

I would guess it is for establishing that you meet residency requirements to be eligible to run for office and don't have a criminal history that would disqualify you.

Old article from before they implemented them (the article mentions the budget proposal being $4 million, it's turned into $64 million and counting).

$4 million for one canopy.

FTA:

The canopy, still in prototype form, would be designed and built over the next two years at a cost of almost four million dollars, with the first installation scheduled for 2015 at the 19th Street station in Oakland.

The project is expected to cost $4 million per entrance.

This sounds like another one of those “well the state has no obligation to actually protect its citizens. So therefore you can’t force us to provide life saving procedures.”

What? This isn't restricting the state from performing abortions.

The Texas constitution is a mess.
