Of course they had to do this or Trump would sic his cult on any Republican who voted against it. How would these Republicans be able to stay in government and milk the public for cushy lifestyles? I mean my god some of them slightly missed beach vacations for this, they work so hard!

Lol 3 heads of romaine lettuce @ $5 to last the week and a family pack of chicken breast @ $10-13 that provides lunch all week and dinner some nights. 1 large tomato and a Vidalia onion for the week as well not sure of the price. I think for the dish itself it can't be more than a few dollars. I cut up one breast into small pieces and bake that for the salads. So it's really like 4-5 pieces of a breast in the salad for each one.

So I lied, not grilled, baked lol don't know why I wrote grilled.

"But I don't get it, I'm a Republican! The rules aren't supposed to apply to us! We just use the law to crush people we don't like who aren't Republicans!"

I've "grown up" and cook my own food, rarely eat microwave ready meals, and have even incorporated much more salad and vegetables into my diet to the point that some nights a salad with grilled chicken is dinner.

The chocolate milk stays, forever.

The infamous "they!" You know who they are, they are them! The ones who are!

I wish but these groups almost never release the information. They get paid or caught. :(

Unfortunately the trajectory we're on in the US the answer will be something along the lines of "criminalizing homelessness" and then sending them off to for profit prisons that take public funding.

The usual: public subsided private "industry" for the wealthy, and "rugged individualism" for the people.

What we should do is recognize the impact AI has on society and tax accordingly as to allow a minimal quality of life for all people and if you want more than that then you try to find work that pays better if it's even available. In the somewhat distant future AI combined with robotics will be able to do everything a person can do, but faster and 24/7. If no one gets a paycheck then no one can buy products so the corporations will either recognize that and willingly pay the previously mentioned tax or collapse.

Short of making fox illegal I highly doubt that will happen unfortunately. Any media that confronts their biases are immediately dismissed as "fake news." :(

91°F (32.7°C) in the factory I work at.

The law states "all factories must maintain a reasonable temperature and humidity."

Nowhere is reasonable ever defined. I am mildly infuriated. And very hot lol

Edit: 94° (34.4C) now and this post has made it close to the top of "Hot"... The gods are having a laugh lol

Hey Lemmy! Time to do some digging!

I was sent a link from a friend about some Totally Cool™ guy who has close ties to JD Vance: Curtis Yarvin. Anyone aware of this guy and his desires? I won't put the link in here as my last post was removed because of it, but a comment within the thread is copied below.

Apparently Japanese media covered the story as was posted to Reddit, but there doesn't seem to be too much talk of this in the US.

From a comment in the reddit discussion: “Curtis Yarvin is a far-right ‘intellectual’ that wants to end democracy and install what I can only really describe as cyberpunk feudalism. He’s suggested turning the United States into a patchwork of corporate fiefdoms ruled with absolute impunity by CEOs, as well as putting mandatory ankle monitors on all unemployed and poor people. This sounds like a joke, but I’m serious. JD Vance is not just a fan of him intellectually, but also a personal friend. As someone who has known about Yarvin for several years, it’s been really concerning seeing how he could potentially become a Rasputin-like figure in the event of a Trump victory. Beyond this, Yarvin has also spent many years advocating for what sounds eerily like Project 2025.”

For those familiar with Star Citizen lore, he apparently wants to turn the US into the Stanton system “lol” …
