Mamdani and his allies see their success winning over a segment of Trump voters as a sign of how other Democrats can win back parts of the electorate that spurned the party for Trump in 2024, including young men and immigrants who felt the party was unresponsive to their needs. But Republicans who spoke to NBC News said that while they were surprised by both the number of Trump-Mamdani voters and the congeniality of the president’s meeting with the mayor-elect, they did not feel as if Mamdani unlocked a road map to reconfigure the electorate.

Republicans: no no no no, Democrats don't try this!!! Trust me bro I'm totally looking out for you. Don't try this. Keep moving to the right, keep chasing our voters I swear it will work next time! Don't give up now! (Hehehe suckers...)

"I got what I wanted from you dumb fucks. I cried and cried about the economy to get you to vote for me. I got my bribes and my corrupt schemes to enrich myself even more so now I say to you: Get fucked, I don't need you. Haha! Oh but still vote R for the midterms or the communists will eat your children!"

Can I add more trolleys? Can the highspeed rail go back and cover the same path the trolley took? Please?

Something about the scale doesn't seem right, but otherwise it's possible just insanely difficult to get this kind of detail.

Every astrophotography site I find has pictures nowhere near this quality, but their exposure times are also 8-10 hours not 28

So I guess you and fox news were committing treason daily when talking about Biden day after day during his presidency?

Oh that's right, the rules only apply to other people....

In a similar position, nowhere near what my perfect life would be. Not even remotely close to it ever happening.

Be in a loving relationship. (Been single for ~10 years. Longest relationship was 8 months...)

Have a secure job that pays well that I enjoy. (I'm 40, uneducated, and work in a factory.)

Own a home where I can have a garden and a workspace for crafts.(See #1&2 for why that's never happening, currently renting a garage "apartment.")

Stupid fucking fake AI images! Toast wasn't invented until 2018... The toaster has been around for literal decades without a use until the invention of toast.

It's like people never went to school or payed attention in breakfast class...

Woah woah woah one whole sack of communism!?

The thing is, it's only illegal if someone else does it. If Trump does it then it's totally cool and correct and you're an idiot for not doing it, but if you did we'd investigate you anyway because now it's illegal.

Literally me. "You just don't actually know me. I'm really just true shit underneath!"

SCOTUS here we come!

"The SCOTUS has declared that it is not the stop order that was illegal, but stopping Donald Trump is in fact what is illegal."

I mean aside from all that nonsense, how could they possibly get away with declaring an energy emergency so they can increase drilling on federal lands and then shut down a whole bunch of renewable energy projects?? It's infuriating

US media company Paramount Global has agreed to pay $16 million (£13.5m) to settle a legal dispute with US President Donald Trump regarding an interview it broadcast on CBS with former Vice President Kamala Harris.

As usual corporations looking for special treatment, hoping to have their merger accepted, refuse to fight the fascist...

I wish someone would sue Fox for fucks sake..

91°F (32.7°C) in the factory I work at.

The law states "all factories must maintain a reasonable temperature and humidity."

Nowhere is reasonable ever defined. I am mildly infuriated. And very hot lol

Edit: 94° (34.4C) now and this post has made it close to the top of "Hot"... The gods are having a laugh lol

Hey Lemmy! Time to do some digging!

I was sent a link from a friend about some Totally Cool™ guy who has close ties to JD Vance: Curtis Yarvin. Anyone aware of this guy and his desires? I won't put the link in here as my last post was removed because of it, but a comment within the thread is copied below.

Apparently Japanese media covered the story as was posted to Reddit, but there doesn't seem to be too much talk of this in the US.

From a comment in the reddit discussion: “Curtis Yarvin is a far-right ‘intellectual’ that wants to end democracy and install what I can only really describe as cyberpunk feudalism. He’s suggested turning the United States into a patchwork of corporate fiefdoms ruled with absolute impunity by CEOs, as well as putting mandatory ankle monitors on all unemployed and poor people. This sounds like a joke, but I’m serious. JD Vance is not just a fan of him intellectually, but also a personal friend. As someone who has known about Yarvin for several years, it’s been really concerning seeing how he could potentially become a Rasputin-like figure in the event of a Trump victory. Beyond this, Yarvin has also spent many years advocating for what sounds eerily like Project 2025.”

For those familiar with Star Citizen lore, he apparently wants to turn the US into the Stanton system “lol” …
