I mean, deport him where? Any other country would probably deport him right back here.

It wasn't until this comment that I understood it was the windows operating system and I was wondering what aspect of the online left I had somehow missed that complains about being able to see out of buildings

Wasn't he on the record criticizing Trump over j6 at some point? Might not have actually done anything about it, but that's probably incentive to at least want to avoid letting Trump go full dictator, lest he eventually find himself targeted for past disloyalty

Not really? Its a marketplace and some regulations on how insurance companies can conduct business. It doesnt really have anything to do with having the common people have economic control

No, thats the thing, he doesnt want people to think he's a trump supporter, and hates that if he wears this old hat he used to really like people will think its a trump hat

My father sometimes complains that he cant wear his red fishing hat anymore, because unless you pay close attention to the different design on the front, it looks like a maga hat.

Not necessarily in this case I would think. If the supreme court got rid of the cases that make same sex marriage legal nationwide, and the republicans due to not doing away with filibuster or due to infighting among themselves don't pass a law to ban it nationwide, it would revert to the state by state basis it used to have. In such a scenario, which isn't that implausible, Cali probably wouldn't want to still have old stuff banning it on the books

I dont know where he actually lives, but we work in a city that is like slightly to the west of Boston, so maybe like east-central I'd assume

One of my coworkers was going on today about how he thinks maybe the dems "still cheated" because Trump didnt win our state and he doesnt think basically anyone voted for Harris. In Massachusetts.

That depends on the nature of what "you" ultimately turn out to be. I tend to suspect (though with only a suspicion to go on and not proof, I probably wouldn't be volunteering) that what "you" ultimately are is the pattern of information stored in the structure of your brain, and thus, any sufficiently perfect copy of that information is the "same" person regardless of continuity of the body. Though creating a second copy before destroying the original would have the caveat that as soon as the second you exists, the different perspective and experience will lead them to diverge into two different people who both have equal claim to the original identity, so that I think to do this, you'd want to destroy the original slightly before, making the process more like resurrection in a new location.

Because these same people I know act pretty normal, even reasonable, whenever Trump isn't the matter at hand. It's like Trump comes up and suddenly a switch comes on in their brain and they're cheering for him like a football team. It's bizarre and surreal and infuriating to see them act that way about a man that makes me fear for my life and that of people I care about.

"Not slaughtering the Jews" does not require letting Isreal slaughter the Palestinians instead.
