Considering it's a State level and Arizona Governor is a Dem... Probably close to 0% chance on that.

Wait until they realize a significant portion, if not the majority, of the Internet also runs on Linux...

You're the type that saw the iPhone's first release and thought, "It's stupid to use my finger to touch stuff on the screen. Just use the tactile direction buttons like an intelligent person would."

You wouldn't get disqualified. They would look into their private life, determine if they are Party members, look at your financial history to determine if you or anyone in your family is undergoing financial hardship, or faces undo influence from foreign actors.

There are plenty of Chinese nationals with clearance. It's a flag, but flags affect your risk level. It's not an absolute disqualifier.

I've filled this form out, multiple times. All contractors who work with a government agency that requires even the lowest Public Trust clearance will go through this form.

It asks for all kinds of information. Your legal name, your aliases you've used (nicknames, or shortened names), immediate family member names (including parents and siblings) and addresses, past addresses you've lived at in X years and who can verify that address, whether you're divorced and how to contact that divorcee, all the countries you have traveled to in the past 5 or 6 years and when, and previous employers, timeframes and why you left them.

It is a lot, typically can take all day. And if they lose that paperwork, you have to fill it out again. After filling it out, they do a preliminary background check to make sure no apparent red flags and you can start whatever project you were told to fill out this form for, which can take months.

Then they assign case workers to do a deeper investigation, depending on the clearance level. That ex-partner you lived with? They may get a phone call or a packet in the mail asking about you. That employer that fired you? Same thing. You might have to do an interview to address inconsistencies (because there always will be in this ridiculous form you have to fill out).

But once you get that clearance... You are coveted by any private company that needs clearanced contractors. Sure, you'll have to go through the process all over again with another government agency, but a company knowing you were clearable makes it easier for them to hire you.

All of this to say that yeah, the form is as horrible as it sounds.

Litmus test is the Virginia election. All of their statewide positions occur during the odd years. And this year, the governor is up for grabs.

  1. Amendment that Congress cannot limit the size of the House of Representatives. This will eliminate the Appointment Act.

  2. The Senate should be increased to 10 per State. This will make bribery significantly harder.

  3. A new branch of government (People's Branch) which has the sole job of ensuring the transparency of the government by auditing, investigating, prosecuting for corruption of all members of the Federal government. The branch will be run like a Union where a board of 15(ish) is elected nationally and they appoint a speaker. Term limits are 1 term, six years, non repeatable, and members are not to have served in any other Federal branch for at least 5 years before or after service in the People's Branch.

  4. All elections for Federal positions are to consist of RCV or (or better) voting methods. FPTP is banned.

  5. National firearms laws that forces 1-year of firearms training for anyone, including law enforcement, to wield a firearm. This will include de-escalation classes, proper weapon safety, and other known weapon safety measures with requirements for recertification every three years. Penalties for violation will be severely increased.

Beach houses that are close to the ocean shore are typically on stilts here in the case of flooding caused by hurricanes.

As a result, the 1st floor can be at least 3-4m above the ground level.

There's lots of costs to AWS. They'll rope you in with the whole free tier for compute and storage. But AWS has charges for outbound traffic, detailed logging, elastic IPs, etc.

It's a whole job to just do cost analysis for cloud services.

Where I live, we had early voting for a whole month now. We went during the second week - 0 minute wait. It took longer to walk into the building and follow the signs than it was to get my ballot, vote, and walk out.

Twilight really fucked up the romance genre, huh? Lol

Nah, I think he can find plenty of them. They just won't fit his expectations of what they'll look like.
