Like he notices something or the person he's fighting says something and he gives a proper medical diagnosis then and there?

To quote DBZa's Android 16:

"But there you stand, the good man, doing nothing. And while evil triumphs, and your rigid pacifism crumbles into blood-stained dust, the only victory afforded to you is that you stuck true to your guns."

Life isn't some black and white fair tale story where if you stick to your guns hard enough everything will turn out ok. Sometimes you have to abandon your principles to protect them.

Comics = American

Manga = Japanese

Generally that's the accepted connotations, even though the words are technically the same.

It literally explains it in the comic? People who communicate badly and then act smug when they're misunderstood are annoying. The other user is saying that the same applies to the OPs post; because the angles don't match the graphic, they're communicating badly

[–] ComicalMayhem@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (4 children)

And if we can't assume that, then what are we even doing

That's exactly what the other user is saying. We can't assume straight lines because the given angles don't make any sense and thus this graph is literally impossible to make. We're arguing over literal click bait is what we're doing.

What do you mean by debate semantics? Can you clarify that?

I'm morbidly curious at how that happens/works

Lizard insurance app mandates you give location permission, refusing access to the rest of the app otherwise. I have 0 intention of giving them this but so far have failed to find a phone number to call them (their mobile website tells me to use the app).

Until I find a different company run by living, real people, my current intention is to use the app to manage my insurance in the meantime. I don't want to give them my location, even if it's only while using the app, so how do I get the app to think it has my location when it actually doesn't?

inb4 just use a computer: nah. It's about spite at this point.

Seriously I've seen a guy see a bunch of pixels and go "Idk but that reminds me of Mexico" and he was right. There's no way the three letter companies wouldn't want that kind of skillset, right?

I'm in the US and the local blood centers near me give $20 gift cards for whole blood ($40 for platelets and "automation" whatever the fuck that means (that might be the whole blood donation idk (if that's the case then I don't know what specific donation the $20 is for exactly))). No idea about plasma though.

I always thought I was seeing too many copies of the same post. Usually chalked it up to cross posting or reposts, but today I just saw the exact same post twice almost back to back, from the same user to the same community on the same instance. Is this a bug? What's going on?

I bought a laptop yesterday, it came pre-installed with Windows 11. I hate win 11 so I switched it down to Windows 10, but then started considering using Linux for total control over the laptop, but here's the thing: I keep seeing memes about how complicated or fucky wucky Linux is to install and run. I love the idea of open source software and an operating system without any of the bullshit that comes with Windows, but most of the open source stuff I have is on my android and fairly easy to install. Installing and using Linux just feels like it'll be a whole different beast that'll eat up most of my time and I'm kind of intimidated by it.

TL;DR Linux scawy, how does a barely computer literate scrub like me who's used nothing but windows since the dawn of their life get started with Linux?

One UI 6.0 and Android version 14. Whenever I go to upload a photo this weird sub menu pops up instead of taking me directly to my gallery or my files. What is this, and how do I disable it?

Edit: Thanks for all the replies everyone! Appears to be a native android photo picker and it cannot be disabled as far as I've seen and been made aware from this thread.

Reddit had a feature where you're able to configure multireddits, or basically a custom feed of select subreddits and only those, kinda like a preset subscribe list. Does Jerboa have this feature?

Sony announced a ton of layoffs recently, at the same time they announced they will not be releasing any major titles until 2025. Don't they need staff to make stuff? doesn't every company? Why all the sudden layoffs, it just doesn't make sense to me, what am I missing?

Using Jerboa for lemmy. Going into the community only loads a number of posts, sorted according to whatever sort I have selected, but never loading any more than that. It's a little irritating, especially when I want to scroll through a community that gets a lot of posts daily or weekly. Is there a setting I have disabled/enabled? is this a bug or a feature?

I get we can sort feeds by community but is there a way to sort by entire instances?
