With proton, this is less and less the case.

Reading comics.
I get why they recall it, but let's be honest. How many people visit an URL found on food packaging? It's made for fans of the paw patrol show, and most kids that age don't come further then whatever game is popular on ios and android.

I still remember the windows Xp compatibility problems with old software and games. And windows 10/11 didn't make those problems go away, instead it got worse. Old software is not a priority, understandably.
For example have you tried to play Dungeon Keeper 2 on a modern pc? I have, and it crashes constantly. Other software won't even run a lot of the times, even with tinkering.
DOSBox made using DOS software accessible. There is not a catch-all like that for pre XP windows software yet.
Also this community is mostly for/about nostalgia.
Nostalgia is a helluva drug. It's not just about the OS, but also the retro games that were made for it. And the hardware for retro collectors. I just noticed trying to find games to post on the DOS Gaming community that many of the retro games I loved as a kid were made for Win9x. So I made the community to post more of my personal nostalgia.
Phone lines usually have 4 leads. Only blue/blue-white are used for the actual connection, orange/orange-white are often not connected.
I love the stock image of an ethernet cable with only phone capabilities having continuity. Good choice from whoever made that decision.
This is more specific aimed at retroarch, not retro gaming in general.
