The Seahawks might still make the playoffs even if they lose these next 3 games just because of how awful the rest of the NFC is. Vikings offense was heavily elevated by Cousins playing out of his mind, Rams still have to play the Niners and 2 AFC North teams, and the NFC South is the NFC South.

There is a non-zero chance the NFC sends 3 losing teams into the playoffs. Meanwhile, multiple 10 win teams will miss out in the AFC.

If they've got the division or even 1-seed locked up they may rest their starters

If we go undefeated over these next 5 games and the Chiefs lose two more games (IDK how, but it'd be funny), that matchup with the Ravens could be for the 1st Seed in the AFC.

Peppers and Gates are locks, and this feels like the year for Willis to finally get in. After those 3, I think they'll be discussions about a lot of Wide Receivers right on the bubble.

I never want to see the Browns succeed until Haslam is gone. I'm fine with the Bengals or Ravens winning, but the Browns org should not be rewarded.

I kinda want to see Jaguars vs either the Cowboys or Lions:

  • Jaguars vs Lions would be the last time we'd ever see a Super Bowl between two 1st timers (lions are the only NFC team who hasn't made a Super Bowl).
  • Jaguars vs Cowboys is purely to see a coach finally win a ring with 2 separate teams. Pederson won with the Eagles; McCarthy won with the Packers. Someone would be punching their Hall of Fame ticket with that on their resume.

Jags vs Lions would not only be between 2 teams that never won, but it'd also be between two teams that had never even gotten there before. The Lions are the only NFC team that has yet to play in a Super Bowl, and the Jaguars are one of 3 AFC teams that haven't.

If Jaren Hall actually wrestles the NFCN crown away, the Lions will never hear the end of it.

Quick bullet points:

  • Vikings potentially getting younger on defense by moving Hunter and/or Hicks. Maybe even Harrison Smith. But their recent successes might incentivize them to stay put.
  • Broncos have a lot of people up for the right price. They wanted a 1st for Jeudy (at this point a 3rd is unlikely) and a 2nd for Sutton (more reasonable, but he's also their primary target rn) during the off-season. Trading a starting O-Lineman like Bolles would be more difficult for them to handle since it's not easy to replace O-Linemen. As for their defenders (Surtain, Simmons, and Jewell), they're more likely to get moved but the deals need to be excellent.
  • Patriots have some defenders that could be moved as well, namely Uche, Dugger, and Mills. All 3 are on the last years of their deals, so the Patriots might try and flip these pieces who might not be long-term options in New England and then restock in 2024.

I don't think anyone. If I had to predict the playoffs right now, here's what I'd go with:

  • AFC Guaranteed: Chiefs, Ravens, Dolphins
  • AFC Likely: Jaguars, Jets, and Browns
  • AFC Possible: Texans, Bengals, Steelers, and Bills
  • NFC Guaranteed: Eagles and Niners
  • NFC Likely: Lions, Seahawks, and Cowboys
  • NFC Possible: Rams, Vikings, Falcons, and Bucs

None of the 2 win or under teams look like threats. Giants are in a brutal division, Patriots are too and they're missing critical members on defense and have bad offensive skill personnel, Packers need to show they can play first half football, Bears QB situation and offensive play-calling is unreliable, Titans are already selling pieces, Broncos are about to start selling pieces, Cardinals don't have the talent on defense to stay in games, and the Panthers are somehow worse than everyone. The only 2-win team that might have a shot is the Chargers, but they need to get rid of Staley to have a chance. He's holding that defense back.
