Wilforks problem is they have his position mislabeled. While he was a serviceable DT his primary position was nose tackle. This may seem small but it's significant because they have entirely different stat expectations. A nose isn't meant to rack up tackles or sacks, his job is to stuff up the center of the line and free up linebackers to make plays. Not only is he the best to ever do this, he did it while also having highlight reel plays like the butt fumble. Dude weighed close to 400 lbs and could dunk. It is a crime he wasn't put in on the first ballet and unforgivable that we are on year four waiting for that call

Man, Peppers was so good. A total force. 6’7, 300 lbs. Just an absolute monster of a human being.

[–] pornokitsch@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I'm still unreasonably upset that Hester isn't in already.

[–] Anon-eh-moose@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Time for Willis to go in.

Tiki Barber, RB – 1997-2006 New York Giants | (Times as a Semifinalist: 1 – 2024)

How about no

[–] SiphenPrax@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

He’s got his connections. He’ll probably get in.

I'm 31 and it's weird seeing all these guys I grew up watching

[–] charles_peugeot405@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I’m still getting used to my head coach being a guy who’s rookie card I was trying to collect in elementary school

Me remembering when DeMeco was drafted

I'd love to see Fletch make it. And it's criminal that Torry Holt isn't in.

[–] True_Window_9389@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Fletcher should have had a silly dance when he came onto the field.

[–] rounder55@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Two incredibly underrated players. Holt not making it really boggles my mind considering that he was a large part of one of the most impressive offenses in league history.

Fletcher would have been a first ballot guy if he was on successful teams. Sure as shit wasn't his fault he wasn't on any great teams. Sideline to sideline

Has to be Andre’s year this time 🤞🤞

Fred Taylor is gonna be on this list for the rest of time.

[–] katelyn912@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

At least he’s on the list. Shaun Alexander scored 112 TDs and he can’t even get on a shortlist.

Will he?

Dwight Freeney & Jared Allen are still waiting. Are we going to see two edge rushers inducted in this class?

Torry Holt's duration as a Pro Football HoF semi-finalist is now longer than his NFL career.

Peppers and Gates are locks, and this feels like the year for Willis to finally get in. After those 3, I think they'll be discussions about a lot of Wide Receivers right on the bubble.

This is r/nfl. Why is a basketball player the main image for this article.

[–] bjohnson203@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

What does everyone think on Steve McMichael? I am so conflicted, I have been following his social media run by his wife, they want him in so bad, let's be real, I don't know that Steve is here in another year to see it, this has to be his year, but I don't know that his numbers are good enough to make it. Emotionally I want it but realistically I don't know that it happens.

[–] J-Fid@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

He's being nominated via the Senior Committee, meaning he's a virtual lock to be inducted this year. Between all the secondary committees, I think there's only ever been one person nominated that that didn't get inducted in that year.

[–] bjohnson203@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Good to know, thank you for the info, I really didn't know how that worked.

I hope dirty ass Hines Ward never sniffs the hall. But there are some very deserving names on that list.

[–] MavsFanForLife@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It’s time for Darren Woodson. 8th time as a semifinalist but feel that he’s got a legit shot this year

[–] Triingtolivee@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I hope Reggie Wayne gets in. Watching Peyton Manning pass too Marvin Harrison and him growing up was a big part of my childhood. That was a great WR duo.

[–] stoic_bison@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Looking through it, this is the first time in a long time where there aren't many names that immediately jump out above the rest. Peppers and Gates definitely belong in as First Ballot, but otherwise, I'm not sure there are any locks. I'm sure at least one of those WRs finally breaks through with Steve Smith being the best of the group.

Peppers and Gates are easy ones, then there's some backlog clearing. Those two, Holt, Wayne, and Jahri Evans. Evans was a monster for a stretch and there just aren't enough interior linemen in the HOF.

Patrick Willis

Torry Holt

Darren Woodson

I am once again asking for the voters to put in Jahri Evans. I get he was a guard, but that guy was dominant. Should get his love even for a non glamorous position

[–] SleestakLightning@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (4 children)

What a terrible year for the HOF.

They really need to do away with the rule that they have to induct at least 5 guys every year.

If Hines Ward makes it in before Kevin Williams I might just stop watching football.

[–] heyimric@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wish Lorenzo Neal would make it one day. Last true FB that was pivotal in LT's success. Loved watching him run and instead of juking would just choose someone to light up.
