It's just the truth, water washes away lubrication. I would be interested to know how thats different for uncircumcised individuals though.

No, why would it be? Water is the anti-lubricant

How is it supposed to be efficient to use an entire lane only for exiting?

[–] Emerald@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Not really though, all lanes except the rightmost lane should be passing lanes. It is different in urban areas where they often open up 2 or 3 lanes for exit only or if there is constant heavy merging. But in general, keep right unless passing

Edit: heck I bet most consumer grade routers DHCP servers would choke after the first 255 clients (probably much sooner) just from having to change subnets. I’m not a networkologist though so IDK for sure

As somewhat of a networkologist I can say that most home routers use the 192.168.something.x IP range. With a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, this means that you could put 253 devices on the network (2 of the IPs aren't usable for devices). After that, you would have to change your subnet mask to something larger, which is easily doable in router config. However, a home router likely wouldn't work well with even just 100 devices connected. WiFi is also half duplex, meaning it can only send or receive, but not both at the same time. This would make the speed unbearably slow. You would really need multiple access points to have this many devices.

Yes, this is a real photo I found from a North Korean propaganda website. Not sure what this is supposed to be honestly, other than a photo-op.

$999,999,999 is just fine though!

Better than $450 billion, gotta start somewhere

You'd rather kill a baby than sit in traffic? Cancelled!

Whenever I'm driving, I appreciate a good traffic delay, as long as it doesn't make me late. I tend to leave at a time where I'll be 20 minutes early if I need to be somewhere, so a modest delay for traffic just adds some extra excitement to my day. I love examining the traffic shockwaves caused by road work and such as well. I look forward to my morning traffic now that a road I drive on is a work zone.

Additionally, traffic is just super cool and human. Its the perfect balance between predictable and unpredictable. Also when I'm in really dense traffic I enjoy hanging out with all the other cars too, like I have some (very temporary) friends. and when I exit the highway, I always tell the traffic still on it "goodbye, have a nice day!" even though they can't hear me

lastly, when I get somewhere on time despite the traffic, it feels so good. It energizes me and makes me feel like I've gone on a grand adventure. Sometimes I'll even take detours through the gravel county roads and such and that makes for quite a wild adventure as these often get backed up as well when others have the same idea as me.

edit: by within reason I mean like a 10-30 minute delay. Additionally, I'm not a huge fan of congestion on roads with traffic signals, but on the motorway where we're all going 5-20 mph consistently its fun

It has no additional flavor other than adding sweetness. I would rather have no syrup than "fake" pancake syrup (e.g. Ms Butterworths).

I much prefer maple syrup. Of course it is expensive, so the Log Cabin table syrup is a good substitute that still has actual flavor and is affordable.

Edit: Also if you still want maple flavor for cheaper, a mix of half maple and half cane works good, like the stuff at Cracker Barrel. It doesn't deserve the hate.

For me it's calculating. Too many people put math into their search engines and not their calculator.

I read the section two definition of "chemical and surgical mutilation" and it mentions altering sex organs to remove their biological functions. One of the biological functions of a penis is to produce sperm. So could this mean no more federal coverage for vasectomies as well as stuff like tubal litigation or hysterectomies? And yes, I know that people under 19 don't usually get permanent sterilization procedures anyways, but I still wonder about this interpretation.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation/

The phrase “chemical and surgical mutilation” means the use of puberty blockers, including GnRH agonists and other interventions, to delay the onset or progression of normally timed puberty in an individual who does not identify as his or her sex; the use of sex hormones, such as androgen blockers, estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone, to align an individual’s physical appearance with an identity that differs from his or her sex; and surgical procedures that attempt to transform an individual’s physical appearance to align with an identity that differs from his or her sex or that attempt to alter or remove an individual’s sexual organs to minimize or destroy their natural biological functions. This phrase sometimes is referred to as “gender affirming care.”

Mine is mapping. I am a big OpenStreetMap contributor and I have mapped many towns near me that were previously completely unmapped.
