Valve has made Linux gaming stupid easy and still people are more worried about FOMO of that small percentage of games that don't run on Linux.

Unfortunately, most of the non-working games are also the ones people tend to have FOMO about. I feel like they're mostly online games with anti-cheats which, by their online nature, means that you will feel really missing out when all of your friends except you play the game, more so than single player games.

~~Critical surgery computers may also be running under Windows LTSC, so they might not get the CrowdStrike patch. Maybe...~~

Edit: So the issue is apparently caused by CrowdStrike. So, unless the surgery computers also use CrowdStrike then it would be fine. Unless, of course, if they use CrowdStrike on surgery computers...

Hi, I'm Jasmine.

This post is a bit of a vent, but I also genuinely need help and comfort. I hope this is appropriate to talk about here and that I don't ruin the vibe of this community too much.

I'm tired with myself repressing my gender. I'm tired with me telling myself maybe I can live happily as a boy, maybe I can convince myself, or maybe this is all fake somehow. I feel like I'm not meant to be a girl, that I am meant to be a boy, and that I shouldn't transition because it's against my cultures. And my internalized transphobia sometimes made me think like a bigot when given the chance.

I've done my best to avoid lashing my internalized transphobia to anyone, even online, and I'll continue to do my best. I'll continue to do my best to support trans people, but ironically it's hard for me to support myself.

I know this all sounds so negative, but it's been eating away at my mental health. I need help.

I just wanted someone to reassure me that it's okay for me to transition and that there is nothing wrong with being transgender. I would also greatly appreciate sites and resources for trans people to reassure me that it's okay to be trans.

When you're a swashbuckling pirates in the lawless seven seas, you gotta come up with clever ways to enforce your ship's code of conduct.

With the vast majority of Lemmy users being refuges from Reddit, it's easy to see why "Reddit ded" circlejerk is strong. It's the most relatable thing to everyone here, as nearly everyone here can relate. Not to mention it's the only thing that unites us as it is the only thing we have in common, regardless of which community you used to belong to on Reddit.

But, I do see those posts less and less. As time went by, I'm sure people will move on from the circlejerk (probably to another circlejerk, but at least they do move on).

When it comes to the lack of content, that's due to the lower number of users. It's hard to say if whether it'll get better as it depends on which kinds of content you are looking for.

But if you want more content, try sorting by new. Reddit death content will usually get more upvotes as it relates to more people than any other content, but the "new" sorting should eliminate this bias.
