The vast majority are private cameras pointing at businesses and probably still writing to vhs cassettes. There area probably some high-tech networked face-recognition things running at the major train stations, but it's not like we're living in Watch_Dogs.

Are you constantly baffled by why people buy consoles instead of simply building a PC, researching and configuring the right emulators, ripping or sourcing the desired ROMs, and getting it all working? We as techies are by far the minority, most people just want to play the game and don't enjoy the tinkering.
Lots of people just hate it (because blizzard or microtransactions or whatever) and can't understand that people like different things. Ignore the numbers, you got some decent discussion!
