If someone is deaf from birth and gains hearing from implants later in life, you whisper in their ear and they can't see your lips they won't understand because they have never heard the audio before. Is this correct?

Since LLMs are improving using data out in the open, do you think humanoid robots will also improve in a similar way, doesn't that put our privacy at risk ? in c/technology@lemmy.world

I have i5 8400 and 1660super with 16Gb ram.

It runs fine on Windows with high settings. Do you think there would be a performance hit?

Devil Daggers. Survive as long as you can in a small arena with enemies that get harder and more abundant with time. Current world record is around 1232 seconds.

Shower thoughts are wasting water. (aussie.zone)
 

My city is in the middle of the worst drought in recorded history. My showers are typically under 2 minutes and I have to shower with a bucket to catch otherwise wasted water to use to flush the toilet. I also shut the water down when I am wet enough so I can scrub myself without having unneeded water flowing then start it back up to rinse.

Plus, water is damn expensive!

Who here really has the time to stand, think and waste in the shower?
