Ryner just wants to take a nap but he's the main character. He literally gets thrown in jail and is OK with it so he can nap. He writes essays on napping.

I, too, just wanna nap

Can't improve insulation? Did you mean can? If so, yes, that's on the to do list. We need better windows too.

Yes, those are good tips thanks.

We have to buy a window unit for our house. We have Central AC but it's not keeping up and we can't afford to upsize it right now. So until then I'm researching which window units to buy. Any advice or anything to cut through all the marketing spam and AI copy that I have to wade thru?

I want anything that isn't low effort, bland, inoffensive. I hate modern trend towards boring. I love everything that isn't landlord white.

Cooking. Maintaining a clean household. I'm the cook/baker and cleaner and I'm male.

Exoskeletons like Ripley's in Alien. We've got smaller ones, but I want to pilot a walking fork lift.

Pipe dream - battlemechs aka mechwarrior (not pacific rim). Very impractical but I want one anyway. Yes, I saw the robot fighting league by Megabots. I have their poster.

Bake things.

I'm not looking for medical advice, but more understanding. I have chronic back pain. I can alleviate it completely with only 2 things - alcohol and a heating pad. Ibuprofen lessens it but it's still present. Muscle relaxers do nothing (which makes sense because it's not muscle related, it's spinal disk degeneration).

A tall glass of whiskey makes my back relax and I can move normally. Once it wears off tho, it's right back to tense and painful.

I wish. It takes me around 6 months and hundreds of applications to get a job. That strategy isn't sustainable for me.

I second this. His teaching style is perfect.

I love that game. Played it multiple times. I should again. It's been a while.

Lmk if the video doesn't work. Trying a different host.

This seems really neat. I've always wanted something like this, society wide. A repairable tool is far more valuable to me.

I got 8/10 of these. Probably 9/10 when I was a teen.

I don't know this person or their credentials with a grain of salt, but, uh.... wow.

I'm looking for a job. I saw Alice works at ACME brick. Bob knows Alice. Bob and I used to work together. I asked Bob if he could introduce me to Alice so I can ask Alice 1) for help getting in touch with the hiring manager and 2) what the company culture is like. Bob said yes and I asked Alice my questions, with Bob CC'ed in the message.

This has seemed OK with most people. However Bob said my conversation with Alice seemed one sided and excessive and like I was taking advantage of him just to get to the hiring manager. I am, correctly, asking for help getting to the hiring manager, for inside info. I am not only asking that, but it is part of what I'm asking. I am also asking about company culture and advice when talking to the interviewer. Bob was very upset and I think I've burned that bridge.

Is this wrong, in general? Is it OK but not asking too often? Most people seemed to be OK with it, but I worry they were just being polite and I've been unknowingly pissing off my entire social life and hurting my chances at getting a job. (why yes, I do have anxiety and take meds.)

I've been trying to delete my tweets and likes and such. I want to keep the name reserved. I've searched for scripts to do this and there are plenty! None of them work. One of them at least said that some changes on January has broken the script. All of the 3rd party services I find either are expensive or only delete that 100 or so tweets.

Anyone know a script that actually works?

I understand a recruiter needs my resume to send to a client. I get that. However, I had a recruiter ask me, repeatedly for my resume, but was unwilling to give ANY details about the position. I wanted to highlight specific things and remove fluff, if needed, from my resume so I wanted some details. He wouldn't give any. I asked again. He said that he's fix it up for the position. I said no, I can do that and I'm a little frustrated with his unwillingness to give any info at all. Next week, a different recruiter asked for my resume without even pretending to have a position, just that they hire for positions in my field.

For more context, I've NEVER gotten anywhere with a external recruiter, only internal ones. I try to be helpful, but nothing ever comes from it.

What is it about getting resumes? Is this some metric they have or something else?

Lol lol
