  • Is anybody there?

  • No.

  • Ok, that’s good. For a moment I thought there could be a could be a stabby knife murderer hiding in the closet.

  • Nope, there’s no one here.

You can guess how the story ends…

Nah, AltaVista is where it’s really at.

It’s been close to 5 years since I needed to print something at work. At home, more like 20 years.

Check if any of your favorite channels are on Nebula. If so, maybe there are other channels worth watching.

When I realized that, I’ve severely reduced my YouTube time. Actually, now it’s split among Nebula, Odsee, YT etc.

I think the artist behind Mad Max might have some ideas worth exploring. When in doubt, add more spikes.

If a company does that, they are teaching customers that the original piece is too high and that you can always haggle for a lower one. Is this really what they wanted? Sounds like this could hurt your business.

I know some people who still do that with the right click menu. Then again, they don’t really copy-paste stuff very often. Maybe only once a week or so.

This is pretty cool. We really have moved over from Reddit, since we already have some of the niche communities. There are plenty of Linux users already, so it shouldn’t take long for people to start posting there.

Has anyone made c/distroHopping yet?

There’s probably plenty of overlap between p(ir/riv)acy communities.

I recall reading an article about version numbers, and it mentioned an interesting example of some app where the version number is essentially pi. Each update just adds another digit to the version, so eventually it’s going to get really long. When the developer dies, all the remaining bugs in the software will officially become undocumented features.

There is another reason: It’s the least bad option for some people.

The business model of Google dictates, that you are the product if you use vanilla Android or whatever it is Samsung slaps on top of it. If you go with a custom image, such as LineageOS, you do get more freedom, but there are also compromises. If you choose to not install GAPPS, you get plenty of privacy too, but the compromises are getting pretty severe at that point. Realistically, using a phone like that isn’t for everyone.

If it was still 2010, and the world around me didn’t require certain applications, I would probably be going full on FOSS with my phone. Sadly, we don’t live in that world any more.
