Though none of these platforms have tried to make money yet, there are a variety of business paths: Like Threads, platforms could turn to in-app ads, or like Mastodon, platforms could turn to grants, donations, and sponsorships. Since the business model shapes how the platform works, people would be free to set up shop on the platforms they prefer.

I figure as long as I make room it “shouldn’t” be a problem.
👍
As a cyclist, I'd say "welcome" because more people using the road means motorists are going to see more varied road users and thus be more conscious of them. So that should make the roads safer. I hope that reasoning works out.
15mph (24 km/h) is pretty quick. I could keep up with you, and I'm only using leg power. I average around 12mph.
That's the secret, it's not.
Microsoft: Cool, now we know what communities care about Tor on our OS. Time to pass this info onto the alphabet groups.
it’s with the ones that amateurs think that are safe because they get sloppy with them.
I changed and highlighted a word that I have concerns about. Keeping in mind, an amateur would have to make sure they correctly purify the end product, and make sure dichloromethane isn't in the end product.
Just because a reagent is dangerous doesn’t mean the products it creates will be.
I understand that. My concern was with amateur chemists mucking around with the dangerous reagent in their backyards. Imagine them ventilating their lab and killing the neighbours dog, things like that. Or not disposing of wastes appropriately.
even amateurs could make in a backyard lab, from indole and dichloromethane
I hope they don't. Dichloromethane ain't nothing to mess with. Wikipedia page section on its toxicity
You haven't heard of "Dude" and "Trust me, bro"? They're incredibly popular research companies.
So far.
I would argue that the only reason Reddit and the like is so popular was because of convenience. If the fediverse becomes convenient, people will post.
