I as a newbie, bought my first pair of open-back headphones (Sennheiser HD599), here are my thoughts.. in c/headphones@hi-fi.community

I also made the switch from the DT770 to the HD599 and was amazed by the level of detail of the latter. I think it's because the HD599 are not neutral, studio headphones, they're on the "fun" side of the spectrum and the change is huge.

I always felt like I was missing something with the Beyers, and I confirmed it with the 599. Not an endgame, but at least I'm not planning to buy new headphones for a really long time.
