Wow, very interesting.
I'll have to pay more attention, my next read-through.

I love these realistic, alternate reality, large-scale pieces that Segrelles, Schuiten and others come up with.

I mean, instead of conjuring up pure fantasy (and sometimes looking ridiculous), they're riffing on known concepts that work perfectly well in our world. Haha, well most of the time, I guess.

That's gotta hurt. 😣

I see one with a yellow cap and long, light brown beard facing the viewer.
Same?

Where's Wally alert:
does anyone else see the funny little dwarf, looking on?

You can tell it´s accurate if you compare it with the results of tensile testing done in engineering:

So it stretched according to known tensile physics, then naturally found the weakest point, is it not? Is that actually from one of the albums..? oO

Gosh, I'm still so blown away by Segrelles' painstakingly use of oil-paint to depict the whole series. There's just nothing like it in Euro comics, far as I know.

But also, I just intrinsically enjoy the series, however the art. Sort of like a 'Conan the Barbarian' deal but with less nonsense, haha. Seriously-- I thought there was sort of a legendary / mythological aspect to this wonderful series, sometimes aimed at kids, sometimes at adults, however it liked to do.

Kinda hard to describe properly, but oh well.
Me, I do think it *rocked*, as we Yanks like to say. :D

Relax mate, no reason to get so negative.

I'm sorry for my harshness right there, Nackt Mull.
I liked Dabeull's work plenty on the whole, and thank you for sharing! ^^

Eh, what is that phrase about an ungrateful giftee...? :S

So, no doubt this is a personal bias based on some years of going up on stage and performing for people-- like, I'm cool with funny concepts, outrageous mindfucks, and all that sort of thing. To me, that's the domain of 'wild artistry in the bush.' Meaning, it's beyond judgement, so maybe I crossed the line there about that one song.

TBH, I'm hugely insecure about boring people, and... so that's on me. 😅
