this is a server basterdization of "Good, Fast, Cheap" regarding producing just about anything I'm guessing, which tends to hold true in the real world quite well, yes?

why would they do this

Its sur... ok its not that surprising to me that so many people shop with a company that is so terrible to its workers and for the climate.

hey, its €2 cheaper on amazon, what do I care if their workers aren't allowed to unionize

Yeah 100% of everything you're saying makes sense.

You sound likea very thoughtful person. Most people are no where near as thoughtful as you are in my experience. Also humans evolved to have a zero sum mentality as we evolved in a resource-scarce world. Now that that is changing for a certain portion of the population, we're in no way inclined to start thinking differently. Some folks are, but most aren't.

You're right about fear and hostility though for sure. Don't stop being compassionate! You've lifted my spirits a bit for what its worth :)

I delivered pizzas for 3 different pizzarias and flowers also.. I know the statistics show more delivery drivers run into trouble than cops get shot, but I think thats down to numbers- when I was slinging pies there were easily 5 pizza places with 5-6 drivers each on trip after trip all day 7 days a week and I would guess 10 cops on duty mostly sitting on their ass in a cop car busting white high school kids for weed at bullshit traffic stops.. anyway yeah I hear you, but I think this is VERY tightly linked with the area you deliver in. my white bread ass area never not once made me feel the sliiiightest bit afraid

ok but where? I don't think about this where I used to live in the US, but last summer we were in rural north carolina and I did a three point turn off someones driveway and I was not relaxed

I hear you.

I honestly used to say I loved humanity. Each year and each observation of us as a species as made me grow more cynical and pessimestic regarding if most people are are "good" or not. The inability of people to not become childlike and selfish was during the beginning of covid was the final piece of evidence for me.

I genuinely believe if they made a gofundme they'd widely be accused of grifting, cause, you know, projection.

Please don't give up on optimism, love and hope though, glad to hear some people haven't :)

and when you go anywhere in the entire world and say you're from America they will think you mean the U.S. and when you get to give your little lecture about the technical definition of America they too will find you tiresome and unpleasant.
