Does this actually surprise anyone?

The split between non-profit and for profit corporation and the amount the ceo earns should have warned anyone that they are not saints and will sell out their community if it makes them money.

Until now it was just smart for them to be the wolf in disguise. I guess selling the data makes them more money than keeping false front.

.ch domains come with domain privacy by default. Since whois entries don't include personal information. Also whois request are only doable through the official registry and only reveal the registrar and technical information and not personal ones.

This road design seems also be done by someone completely insane. Who thought it was a good idea to cross two lanes without any kind of traffic regulations.

Luckily no every country has insane roads like that.

Privacy is also practically not better than google, microsoft or apple unless you never send an e-mail to an adress from there. But since propably about 90% are hosted on either of them it does not really matter. Best to not use e-mails at all for any sensitive data about you.

I really really want to believe in firefox but the corporations behind it are way too fishy.

The whole setup of mozilla foundation and mozilla coporation stinks. Mozilla asking for donations when the donation amount is barely 1 percent of their income.

I don't why people buy multiple phones. Over the span of few years. Is it not a hassle to always set them up?

Not necessarily i don't know about the situation all arouns the world but in atleast the herman speaking countries we have the concept to buy flats like one would buy a house and own it. So not all of it is owned by the same person. You still have the house maintainer which looks after the infrastructure but afaik you don't pay them rent.
