I tend to downvote obnoxious comments, or ones that it’s clear the commenter is in love with the ‘sound’ of their own voice. I tend to leave the ‘carefully considered’ ones alone because they add to the conversation unless they stray too far into the above categories.
Klanky
Yep, I backed the Kickstarter and hang out in their Discord. Wasn’t sure on the rules about promoting stuff like that so I didn’t mention it. :-)
Star Control 2: The Ur-Quan Masters
Always loved me some Mara Jade and Talon Karrde.
I’m a lurker. Vegetarian myself but my wife is vegan.
Yep, I have no idea how people are able to afford stuff like that! Some of our friends have these crazy hobbies and go out to eat all the time, multiple cruises a year, etc. Meanwhile a ‘date night’ for us is Chipotle and DVDs of whatever show we are watching that we borrowed from the Library. That is the only way we can afford our modest one side of a duplex. And I feel like I make ok money but I guess everyone we know just makes so much more, or we are just very strict with our budgeting and credit usage.
I charge by Bluetooth headphones ‘pod’ with my Steam Deck charger and it seems to be ok.
Iceland or Finland. Love both of those places, from the people to the landscape.
I just say it the way it is - ‘Oh that is Travis’ shoe’
I added the apostrophe for writing it, but I don’t say the name any different.
Reminds me of that scene in Interstellar where a baseball game is interrupted by a dust storm. Some interesting world-building in that scene regarding the state of the game too.
It’s funny, I love the DeLorean/Tron style, but to me the CT looks nothing like that. Both of those styles have a certain sleekness to them, while nothing about the CT looks sleek.
I definitely see where you’re coming from. At the same time I don’t tend to get involved in deep discussions where I have strong feelings, on the Internet. I save those for in-person with friends.
I guess I am just very sensitive to tone and (what comes across to me as) arrogant people, and I have downvoted obnoxious comments on all sides of an argument before.
Of course YMMV, but I find blocking people like that (especially on Discord) make my Internet experience much more pleasant.
