As well as the fact that Persuasion and Deception are not mind control.

No fucking shit. I agree with that, my argument is that knowing the truth and believing it are two different things. It doesn't affect their beliefs or motivations; it's a god damn lie detector test.

At this point I can only come to two conclusions: You either don't have a strong grasp of English or you are willfully not reading what I am saying.

I would've been okay with that one race of clone people who asked for new DNA samples to fix their genetic diversity issues (and subsequently stole them when they got no volunteers). Like... The hell was the issue when they asked politely? I always hated that one because it doesn't make sense or fit the character's personalties and commonly seen behaviour.

If a husky is cold, it's probably close to the heat death of the universe.

Sussex is my favorite kind of sex.

There is a difference between "you believe what they say" and "you can't tell if they are lying." The sense motive roll's outcome only says whether or not they can tell if another character is lying; not even what the lie is or have anything to affect their personal belief. He might know the cleric is a bad guy; he just can't prove it.

"I am a man who wants to die hard. They call me... Diehardman."

Let's use a different example then.

The characters have entered a room where the wind is absolutely howling, affecting their hearing, movement and balance. Anything they do in that room that requires a listen, movement or a balance check, has a -5 penalty. That is a circumstancial penalty.

The same can be done through magical means.

Holy shit. No. I am not talking about spell save DCs; I am talking about circumstances that would provide a bonus or penalty that might not appear on your character sheet, using magical effects as an example.

vaguely sensible story

"Oh shit. I'm stuck in the computer! Hey, how do I get out of here?"

"Just go over there."

Then just fill in what happens on the way over there.

The DM isn't controlling the players. The player of the paladin is choosing to use sense motive against my bluff checks.

Again, any circumstancial penalties or bonuses that are not inherent on your sheet are typically given by the DM. Such as you entering a room that has some kind of field or obstacle that imposes a penalty or confers a buff. It does not mean that a player can say "I have a super high iron will and so I get a +40 to any mind affecting spells!"

I imagine we probably ship people off to spend their last year or so away from society so nobody has to watch their loved ones die.

Awkward title probably, but lemme explain:

The question is "This piece of French architecture was finished on January 26, 1887." You know this is the Eiffel Tower. But when you buzz in and give the response, you say:

"Who is the Eiffel Tower?"

Would you be awarded the points for being correct, or docked the points for being incorrect since you didn't say "WHAT is the Eiffel Tower?"

IMO the worst feeling is when your finger goes through the toilet paper and you end up going up your own poopy ass. 😖

This is more for my console friends out there; maybe even Playstation specific because I haven't so much as touched an Xbox since the 360.

Do you prefer Performance Mode or Quality Mode? I'm really curious to know if anyone even uses Quality Mode. Whatever you use, what kinds of games are you usually playing, and why do you prefer the mode you prefer?

I am 100℅ Performance Mode, personally. The only thing I could really play in Quality Mode without being bothered by the low FPS is like Civilization or a card game. If I have to actually move a character around, I can not stand for less than 60fps. I will happily sacrifice everything that makes a game look good to make it run smooth as butter. But I do tend to like action games and especially PVP. Every millisecond matters.

And if so, are they unique to the animals they live on or is it pretty much the same as ours?

Growing up, I didn't really question why this band would be played along side Nirvana, Bush, Soundgarden, Linkin Park, etc. because my radio station of choice was not just grunge, but also "adult alternative." So it would play pop shit, too, sometimes.

But I still, to this day, often find U2 listed among grunge artists, or their songs get played on grunge playlists. The fuck? How is this shit grunge? It doesn't fit in any way! It doesn't have the sound, it doesn't have the style, shit it doesn't even have the same emotional resonance. It's happy and hopeful.

Let's imagine that organs can be perfectly grown in a lab and installed into a body without any chance of rejection or other complications usually associated with organ transplant.

You, a perfectly healthy adult human, go to the doctor and have them put a second heart in your chest that is connected to the circulatory system with your original heart.

What would be the effects of this? Could it even be done in this hypothetical situation at all?

Let's say I took a bunch of different characters from various media; a head, 2 arms, 2 legs and a torso, glued them together and then traced over to create a more homogenized image... Is that a new thing? A remix? Or ripping other's work off?

I've just had this idea for a while (wanna try making my fursona from photos of a dog for the head and my own body for the body) and got curious if this proposed technique was done using others' material would be a violation or if it would be more like a remix.

I just randomly remembered something about Steam coming to PlayStation, in a capacity where you could just access your chats/groups and upload content to your media center (not playing/streaming games at all) which made me wonder why it's not still a thing, but I can't find a single fuckin' thing about this... Did... Did I just make this shit up subconsciously? 🤨

Had just made a joke about this and it got me wondering: is this a dick move? Is it even legal? Nobody truly believes their wish will come true, right? That's just free money sitting in the water. Or would most people these days consider them to be donations? I can only assume that someone has to clean them out every now and then so as not to become totally filled with coins. Who would keep it? The city? The private institution that owns the fountain (if in some corporate lobby area or something)? Is it donated to charity?

Secondary question: Is this even a tradition outside the US? How common around the world is throwing coins into wells or fountains and making a wish?
