I don't care who "leads" clean tech. This isn't a dick swinging, nor measuring contest. We need to stop emitting greenhouse gasses and even remove some from the atmosphere, as well as deacidify the oceans of possible. It won't matter who had the biggest gangrene dick if we all cook to death, it just needs to get done. Holy fucking shit, if there's a perfect argument against intelligent design, the existence of humans is it.

TELL ME ABOUT THE OVARIES! I MUST KNOW ABOUT THE OVARIES!

While I agree in principle with the lawsuit, it is interesting that this is the game that people are suing over. I heard the hype and downloaded the crew 2 and it was complete dogshit of a game. I don't mean from the perspective of finish, just the that the game, as intended, sucked ass. This isn't the only ubisoft game like this, I don't know how they manage to generate so much hype and fanfare around these tuberculosis vomit games over and over again.

It would. They could over a discount with the turn in of a d-link device and roll in some nonsense about reducing e-waste. They will probably get a nice little sales boost and tax breaks while helping the decline of a competitor.

I can respect that, but also respect that people will find it empty and confusing, especially because it isn't corporate, so there is no funnel to get the rolling. They have to be motivated enough to seek all of that information out and as much as people use social media, it isn't that important to them.

I don't use mastodon, but yes, people are use to social media doing everything for you. Youtube is probably the greatest example of a service that will spoonfeed you content with little to no input from the user. My understanding of mastodon is that you have to know what you're looking for to find content.

Valid, though in some cases dark, points. The US is one of, if not the largest, per capita emitters on the planet, though. Our military alone is a top emitter. I just find the outlook for meaningful change in this country grim and the effects we've already begone to see from climate change are pretty severe.

So...uh...is everyone ready to join those of us slandered as "doomers" in reality now? Nothing of significance has been done or is being done, and this problem is not going away. It is only going to get worse. Unless everyone joins us in reality, it is over. I'm not exactly hopeful, as the "I hate all science" party just swept both houses, along with the presidency and they already had the courts.

I wasn't surprised by this outcome in the least. Nobody with any knowledge of this country's history or regular interaction with much of the trash that inhabits it should have been either. If you're still confused, look at the exit poll breakdowns by demographics.

Gonna take a two month breather?

Idk where you were 2004, but the conservatives you speak of certainly weren't around. In fact, I'm quite sure they never existed, considering conservatism in the US has always been closely tied to white supremacy and Christian nationalism.
