They've got 3 legit all Star caliber players in their early 20s.
If they can ever get the right supporting cast around Ja, Jaren, and Bane and figure out why the injury bug is so rampant in Memphis (and of course keep Ja from doing dumb shit off the court) they'll be legit.
Even without having 8-9 rotation/starters missing this year this team would've taken a step back. They've put too much stock in young late draft picks that clearly aren't as good as the players they traded away for the picks.
If they can learn from this down year and make the moves to get a decent supporting cast I could easily see them right back at the top of the West.
But they definitely need to take this year off humbling and learn from it. If they don't learn from this down year and use it as a lesson and fuel to succeed they'll never be more than a good regular season team. I can see both scenarios playing out.
