If you know Linux command lines and set up your own VPN server, sign up for a Oracle Cloud free tier virtual machine.

https://www.oracle.com/pt/cloud/free/

I have my very own VPN hosted on Oracle.

I did 6 months! 3 of them travelling Mexico! I loved it. And I could keep that jobless life for years if I had money ๐Ÿ˜… Now that I work remote, I still prefer to travel alone.

Plus, you'll meet other travellers and locals on your way. The only think you'll miss is when your part ways.

If you can set that up on a virtual machine, Oracle Cloud offers free ones.

I'm into Southern Brazil, city of Florianรณpolis, it's safe.

That's odd! First of all, your Internet provider may change your IP from time to time, especially when you restart your router. Some providers might charge you for a static one.

But if you really need a static IP, you can sign up for a VPN service and some offer your very own static IP as an add on. I have my own VPN, I set it up on a Oracle Cloud virtual machine. PS: You need some networking and Unix command line knowledge.

Plus, you mentioned that you do all your job using Web based apps, for example Gmail, that means you're using Google Workspace.

I worked for Google Workspace tech support and there's no connection between you checking in to the RH system and accessing Google Workspace. Google Workspace would need a separate set up.

Honestly, I believe your company made that up to refrain employees from working abroad.

I hope this helps.

I would recommend Brazil. I'm gong there in December and until the carnival. In the meantime I'll visit Argentina, Colombia and Peru.

Thank for the tip. I'll give it a try :)

Hey guys ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

Any recommendations of free and reliable apps or website for swapping home with other digital nomads worldwide?

I'm a Portuguese citizen and remote worker living in Ireland.

I own an apartment in Cascais, in Portugal, 15 minutes walks to the beach, and I'm barely there. As I travel very often, I want to swap it to save in accommodation.

Another questions, my apartment is renovated and I do everything to keep it modern and comfy, do the swap platform guarantee the same standards when swapping?

Actually I'll be in Lisbon from the 2 to 24 December and then I'm going to Latin America (Brasil, Argentina and Peru) for the winter and it would be great give it a try in those countries.

Thanks in advance
