These midtier titles could literally make all the money on the world and it would still not be enough

The SCP facility has been breached

Once it finally crumbled, they have to go somewhere

No twatter links sure, but they'll go to shittier sites

Or worse, the very sites you use

the only other difference so far: when playing one single game: it makes the entire system sometimes freeze up and force me to reboot

a game that worked perfectly before

This thread made me look at it and see the newer driver

Is there an amd card/PC youd consider an equivalent or upgrade?

i switched to 550 yesterday, it was 535 before that

Ill keep it as short as possible, apologies if i keep rambling(ill put my specs at the bottom)

Over the last yew years, i have used quite a lot of distros, from mint (currently my main again), to manjaro to solus to endeavouros and more i cant remember, one thing they all (minus solus) had in commong (for me) was the fact that pc gaming...was horrible on them.

Many hours where spend getting different games to work, or rather trying to get them to work at all, most of them had failed, steam, lutris, default wine, no matter what has been used)

As an example:

Anno 1404 history edition (best anno, fite me), i bought it on steam, tried launching it, didnt work, tried several proton versions, didnt work, lutris, didnt work, i downloaded a crack to see, didnt work either, using a different file format, nothing.

Sometimes i was able to make it work, once and than never again, solus was the only one where anno 1404 worked out of the box, i managed to make it work in endeavouros once by installing two packages i could never find again. (most recently, i bought space marine 2, didnt work and keeps crashing no matter what i do9

But this was the best case scenario, games really work.

Is it just my hardware?

Am i using linux just wrongly for years?

Is it my fault?

Am i missing something?

The reason this outlet is open was because my washing machine was connected directly to it. I was advised to close it up by the people who took my old washing machine away. However i dont think i can wait until my friend has time to look at this. I likely cant turn the power on on the outlet at all right now i assume, how can i make sure myself that i can safely turn the power back on? electricity varies wildly in countries, im from austria if that helps.

Edit: a friend of mine who does some electrician work as part of his job (building pools) corroborated several of your comments (the only exposed cable is the grounding one and he offered to cover it up further at a later point after i put some tape on it)

thank you all for your answers and putting me at ease

We all know the story, so many passion projects are taken down by companies and most commonly not even for reasons that make much sense.

Most recently I saw, portal 64 taken down by valve, you have to own portal, made for a dead old console.

Thats just one of many examples, which leads me to the actual question, why be under the very common threat of an uncaring ruthless company like this instead of creating something new? Or a company that doesn't openly kick people in their butt? ( Nintendo being so prone that valve didnt even wanna bother)

no matter which proton version i try to run the history edition in, the best it was able to do was launch into a blackscreen and throw a cant find uplay error, protondb was no help at all, none of the tips there helped, neither changing the engine ini, nor using lutris

im trying to get it to run on endeavouros and nvidia

the only anno 1404 version i was able to run was a torrented version from a collection of history editions

any help would be appreciated

apologies if this is a dump question but how do i see dms that have been marked as read? like i had one that i marked and forgotten to reply to

After years of promises of implementing playlists and quietly removing it from their featured to do list, id like to see what alternative yall could recommend thats equally permanent and allows you to create playlists?

By permanent i mean that with freetube, i dont have much fear that it will suddenly go dark like an invidious instance, id like to have something similar with an alternative if possible.

any help is highly appreciated.

some thumbnails are missing in nemo, the size for thumbnails is set to 64 gb, the curious thing is it fails to generate some SMALLER thumbnails, for example, i have one file thats around 100 mb, has a thumbnails, next to it one with 80, no thumbnail, i tried some common tricks like deleting totem.thumbnailer but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated!

the system in question is running endeavouros with cinnamon

apologies for coming back with another question so quick, but im at a loss im trying to get a plugin that lets you show live translations of what you are saying on stream. I found a few but...its not working to say the least.

https://github.com/eddieoz/OBS-live-translation : uses two different sites and the second one doesnt allow the very files the guide wants you to upload https://github.com/occ-ai/obs-localvocal : uses deb files for some reason and doesnt work to install anywhere else (needs apt get) https://patrikzudel.me/ai-subtitles : uses openai, which i dont have access to http://www.sayonari.com/trans_asr/asr.html : only works for jap to eng and vice versa https://github.com/occ-ai/obs-polyglot : again, debs

any help would be very much appreciated

Once upon a time, ripcord was my favorite to use, unfortunately its been dead and dormant for over 2 years now. Id love to know if anybody knows any similar client (for example: be it in having custom design, or being super lightweight)

(yes, i know, you dont have to say i should use matrix or something else)
