I am not using Wifi. The car will search, just like an iphone, for nearby wifi sources. But I am not doing that

The car itself has a hot spot that you can activate. And it activates fine. When I go to wifi on my iphone I can see the hotspot (I gave it a name) and the phone easily connects to the hotspot. The Wifi symbol pops up on my iphone

You do HAVE TO pay for the hotspot just as you said in your comment, but they give you several months FREE.

Trying to figure out why I can use the hotspot or apple car play fine, but never both at the same time

Funny thing is that there are many who I disagree with. I don't think they are bad people. I don't call them assholes or some similiar words of condemnation. But the virtue signalers just HAVE to impose their bullshit on everyone else. If you don't agree with them you are evil. Imagine being on a social media site that is suppossed to be superior to reddit, and you are in a nonsense group like "shit posts" and still you just can't hold your virtue signaling bullshit in check. And ironically these people have zero self awareness of how irrationally they are acting. Never waste your time even attempting to have a rational conversation with them, they don't understand the concept

Have to agree. For so many there is only "ONE" way to think. Still remember hoping that Lemmy would be different than reddit. A place where just because you disagreed with the prevailing narrative you weren't condemned.
