I have never mentioned it at my main job, it’s none of their business. Unless you have a contract that says you can’t do work for anyone else.

I have a pelican one and while I like it I have ended up using my lowepro backpack way more often. My main problem is just that I find it annoying to carry instead of just wearing the pack. It does sound like it would work well for you though.
