"... we are obligated to sell players regardless of how well we do."

Most likely yes, alongside Rabiot and Griezmann who gets listed as a forward but is really a midfielder for France.
We did, we put them both in Griezmann.
This what makes Griezmann so good' video was made 5 years ago. I'd say he's even better now. He really is underrated.
I was like: is Campbell 602? Yep, Campbell is 602. I don't think I could identify any other team's most hated player...
This is true from the perspective of 'performance of teams in European competitions in the last 5 years' but there are other factors that impact the inclusion or exclusion of leagues in statistics. France is a top 5 league in revenue for example, which is a fairly good proxy to measure how many people follow the league and would therefore be interested in hearing stats about it.
I personally would like all stats to include the top 7 leagues but it gets tiring to see people pretend not to understand why Ligue 1 is chosen as the 5th league ahead of Eredivisie or Primeira Liga.
Headlines, two years from now: "Messi has now scored 200 goals since he turned 36"
For me the most impressive thing about this record is that by having scored 300 goals, he's already outscored a lot of great strikers I've seen when I was younger like Trezeguet, Luca Toni, Inzaghi, Torres...
Scoring 300 goals and winning a world cup and multiple league titles is already an amazing career by most standards, but he's not 25 yet and hopefully has plenty more years.
