To be fair, deep playoff runs are about the team, not the individual (if you ignore Lebron in 2018 or Kawhi in 2019). Especially with someone like Tatum, who had some awful series in the past few seasons.

Not sure how you would even compare the eras tbh.

By 00s PG standard, only CP3, Tyrese, Garland and MAYBE Luka and Trae would even be regarded PGs. Even though I consider Luka a Point Forward.

Most modern guards play like SG with the goal to score, not set up their teammates.

What makes it even harder is that numbers have been inflated for almost a decade now. So a guard that averages 8 assists nowadays would probably be around 5 in the early 00s. I am ignoring individual factors like usage rate, play style and such, but you get my point.

He's doing more than fine, imo.

Elite defense for a rookie for the most part and his dribbling has already improved since the pre-season.

Some of you just need to stop expecting every very promising rookie to be Lebron or Luka in their first year.

The only rookie I would clearly put over him is Chet, who has been very impressive so far. And that guy plays on one of the most talented teams in the league, with way more space and already had a whole year to prepare.

The only thing that worries me about Wemby is that he absolutely cannot stand contact, thus settling for jumpshots instead of dominating around the rim.

I don't think that's totally fair. Injuries happened to AD and Lebron. That's out of your control as a franchise.

And the Westbrook disaster was also a lot on Bron and AD. They wanted him and the Lakers had to sacrifice freaking Caruso and KCP for that.

The only truly wasted Lebron Lakers years were year 1 and 3. Cavs basically wasted 8 out of 11 of his best years? Literally his whole first stint and then the 2018 season. That must be record lol
