I don't like being pessimistic, but.....

The full impact of the oil shock from the Iran war won't hit for a while yet.

Good job, well done, Trump.

Virtual golf is a thing now. It's like a giant video game.

Basically, you hit a ball into a projection screen. It has fancy laser trackers that works out direction, distance and spin. You can even select to play famous courses anywhere in the world, where they'd never let you in, and you couldn't afford anyways.

Doesn't take much room at all. Indoors with all the creature comforts

My Mum always said I was unique.

Now I have proof!

Just being in Australia, and setting the timezone correctly gets you to below 0.6%

😒

Sorry, guys, my bad.

I was vibe coding "Make a user interface worse than YouTube" and the agent misunderstood and escaped it's sandbox.

Well, they started with Orwell's 1984, but that was 42 years ago and you can do so much more with technology now!

Rupert Murdoch gave up his Australian citizenship.

Since 1985, he's 100% US. He's all yours.

I'm in Australia, near the southern ice wall!

Wait! Unless I'm meant to be doing the 'living in a giant tube thing' again.

Sometimes reality confuses me. BRB, checking on YouTube.

Hope everyone stays safe and cool. Remember: have a plan, leave early if you can. Catastrophic is not a recommendation. GTFO.

Anyways, anytime I start talking weather with someone, I can't help but have certain songs run through my head. The Heatwave Mix is an open zone for song recommendations that have at least one line that talk about weather/temperature. Please post the line and a link to the song.

I'll kick off the hotness with a line that always gets stuck in my head : I walk about in the summertime saying "How about this heat!".

Now, once we hear that, the next recommended song says I should get my funk on and "Keep my cool!"

OK, this is not actually from rage, but it is Ozmusic. I was going down a rabbit hole that took me eventually to the Choirboys, generally known as a classic 80s rock/pub band.

They had several bangers, including what was the unofficial Queenslanders anthem, at least in Surfers.

But what made me double take was how few views/listens.were on their official Choirboys channel.

Some personal faves:

Happy listening! Bust out that air guitar!

"What the public doesn’t know is that the fundamental assumption of radiation safety and regulation simply isn’t true. This is the case against Linear No-Threshold."

I found this video getting more interesting the further it went on. No relationship between cancer and radiation? And cancer rates go down for those with radiation exposure? You may be radiation deficient?

I use old.reddit.com, and had trouble logging in from there today. "Too many redirects". I also use the Redirect to old.reddit.com extension. When I disabled that, the login link it now takes you to is https://www.reddit.com/login/. That, of course, takes you to www.reddit.com.

The old 'popup' login box has been removed. I also noticed that the in sub logins where they used to have username/password entry boxes have been removed.

More reddit enshitification to try and make us use their horrible UI.
