This reminds me of the scientific breakthrough adage. Very few eureka moments have led to big discoveries. Instead most stem from one expected outcome met with “that’s weird…”

What role(s) do you currently serve in the organization?

If you own a majority of the organization, why not just bring in someone board approved that can fill the role you are in right now? You retain everything from shares to equity.

I would caution about passion. It’s an overrated and misunderstood element. The guy that’s running the biggest venue servicing waste management business in town is likely not at all passionate about port o potties. However, you may find that he’s incredibly passionate about serving others, going above and beyond for clients, and treating his employees kindly. People whine about not being in a job or industry they’re passionate about all the time, but it’s not always as simple as it sounds or seems.
