I was looking for this last night after it happened but I had to sleep. I remember it looked pretty bad live. It's off a really obvious foul by rookie Kobe Brown, and Barnes is falling back to sell it but he goes legit right into Powell's knee.

It made Powell look tough as nails as he was like limping on it bent the wrong way and just tried to play on it after. Powell walked to the bench of his own power but he left the arena in a cast.

A bummer for sure. For those who didn't watch harison Barnes got fouled and fell right into his knee.

Between Dort on Paul George at the end of last season, to Mason Plumlee and Julius Randle earlier this season, the Clippers have a real players inadvertently flying into their knee problem. Just bad luck, but damn. Like, I'll try to find the Clip in the comments because Norm deserves props for it. He got up and limped for a while and then tried to stay in the game.

I mean, he did really good a few nights ago in Dallas and had some good assists. This post just has an agenda.

Hey what does renowned Clippers fan Bill Simmons think of this?

[–] Otherwise_Form1315@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The sides of our fanbase that hates Russ and the side of our fanbase that hates Harden are a good dichotomy for all basketball debates on reddit ever and tell us a lot about the true Nihilism of human condition in the internet age.

I was expecting the reverse lay-up jam. I do like that you moved on from Overwatch to Wrestling.

it was a good win, hope Norm is ok. we gotta lead the league all time in dudes who've inadvertently gone flying into a dude's knee.

Refs really tried to give this game back to the Kings. I'm sorry but it's true. Like I know it always happens, but it was particularly egregious.

Kawhi said nope.

[–] Otherwise_Form1315@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Kawhi dad-dicked the Kings and the Refs.

[–] Otherwise_Form1315@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ok like the refs tried so hard to give this game to Sac and Kawhi dad dicked them and the refs.

[–] Otherwise_Form1315@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

lol refs really gave the ball back on that non moving screen?

I think it's fair to criticize De'aron fox's defense, young warriors fans here desperate shit on him for some reason. Like that's an actual clear issue with his game.

[–] Otherwise_Form1315@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Kawhi Leonard is clearly washed.

They are letting the kings get very physical.

I'm really happy Denver fans are getting to see Reggie Jackson and he's very well for them in this stretch without Murray, because he was someone who the numbers people and the people who watched had completely different takes on because his numbers weren't always good but he would legit get a massive stat boost randomly for like a pretty big window of the game. It's weird.

I also just like the way his game looks. He also leaps and skips when dribbling the ball up and he knows he's going to score. which is adorable.

Now we've seen this with both the Suns and the Clippers . I don't mean to suggest that these teams becoming good is necessarily why these terrible owners were forced to sell. However, in the case of Donald Sterling, he probably should have lost the team when he illegally moved them to LA in the 80s, or when he was sued by the US government for his terrible, and racist business practices in 2009.

However, in 2009 the Clippers were arguably the worst franchise in all of American sports. and I say "arguably" to mean, they had a really really good case to be the least valuable franchise in sports.

In 2014 the Clippers made the playoffs three years in a row, for the first time in their history.

The suns are a bit different as initially when Sarver took over in 04, the Suns were actually just entering a new high with Steve , and despite never making a finals, I'd still probably pick that as the best Suns team of all time and the one that really had the best chance at a title (in 07).

However, the Suns also had what I believe is the worst decade in their entire existence in the 2010s. Likewise, they weren't really any good during Adam Silver's ownership until they made the finals in 2021 and Sarver was forced to sell soon after.

Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but I feel like the Devos family has to be next with Orlando's promising core.

I think there's a lot of teams that feel like they have the best announcers in the league. I'd definitely put my Clippers on that list. The Lakers are of course OGs on that list of great announce teams. I'm sure there are others

Then there are teams with notoriously bad announcers, like the Warriors(who's announcers during the Chet Holmgren game tying three inspired this post). I don't personally like the Suns announcers.

The wildcard team announcers are the Hornets, because I personally love them. They remind me of wrestling announcers from WCW.

So let's get this poll: if you think your team has the best or the worst announce team, say so below.

Defining steal as picked outside the top 10, with more points for the later in the draft you play.

This is mostly an overreaction but I kind of already thought it before tonight. He did show out tonight though. and against Durant having a great game. That third quarter looked replicable, tbh. That's just like, my opinion man. But to hit y'all with a useless cliche I said in earnest at the bar to my dad: "his run in the third quarter today not only looked good, he looked comfortable doing it."

I think this kid will be the best player on his team in three years. Who are your guys' picks?

I haven't been on reddit a lot lately, so this may not be a popular sentiment here but it's definitely one i see every time a player is suspended on twitter. That "Ja Morant got 25 games for dancing with a toy gun on instagram but Draymond green chokes a guy and only gets 5." I've seen this point brought up on essentially every dirty play anyone's done so far this season.

Ja Morant wasn't suspended for dancing with a gun. Along with a lot of weirdo petty reported stuff he'd been doing, he got suspended for 25 games because he got a short suspension midway through the year, made a whole show of going to therapy for like a week and a half and did a whole mini press tour and then did the same stupid stuff again.

The NBA doesn't actually try and judge the severity of crimes, just if those players make the league look dumb. The NBA said "hey don't do that again ^(^)^(publicly)" and then Ja went "ah yes I'll never do that again ^(publicly)" and then posted him with a fake(?) gun on his instagram story. Which like, in one sense, I think it's dumb to suspend a guy longer for that than all the off the court stuff, especially the Josh Primo stuff, but also, like, wtf are you doing Ja?

I'm honestly fairly hopeful as a Clippers fan. I wouldn't trust my feeling tho, as I will be hopeful regardless, but I see a lot to like this season already without Harden. And honestly this isn't in panic to the loss that just happened, that was a good game and there were a lot of mitigating circumstances there to really make a judgement call. Not to mention working PJ tucker in and also missing one James Harden who will do...something good I hope.

But the Clippers really didn't have an answer when the Lakers went huge. and I mean literally, they just had to take it in the third after the lakers were in the bonus.

That's my pitch. they have like 5 pick swaps now and expiring salaries. I think honestly you could get it done and keep most of your actual remaining firsts, just giving up pick swaps.

The trade machines haven't updated yet and I don't know how to skip into the future. but if they keep Covington, and add Grant and Brogden, you have a line up of

Maxey

Brogden

Jerami Grant

Covington/Tobias Harris

Embiid

really whichever of the wings you like the most. I think you have a lot of options there. Batum is also a very selfless player I can see them liking if they want to throw Tobias Harris in there for a buy out.

I'm up gosh darn it. I guess you're not supposed to swear apparently? I am awake. I hate that I am. At 27 I was so excited about NBA trades i was stoked they were happening late at night. Now i'm cheesed off about my sleep schedule. I made another post complaining all about that but I want the young people to truly understand the horrors of aging.

Now I am thinking about basketball. Anyway, the 76ers are in the market for another star with the assets from this trade. Now, I know what you're thinking "They got marcus morris, no more star power needed" and you'd be right. Anyway, the one I saw in the comments on here was Zach Lavine. and I do see it, I think he succeeds with not that much offensive pressure on him with Maxey and Embiid. I like Lavine but I don't think that's a good enough team defensively.

I think the real smart move is to add someone without having to completely empty your war chest. Enter Jerami Grant, who I am maybe higher on than most but he's a good player who, and I think this is important, Showed how good of a defender he could be in the playoffs with Denver all those years ago and I still believe in him. Maybe he plays well for a while and inflates his market value but I doubt it. OG Anunoby fits neatly right here. I think though that the Raptors would rather deal him to the other conference.

Now. What about KAT? I think this is a doubt, I don't think that the sixers have enough to get the T wolves to give in so quickly on their all in window they stupidly committed to. I like the idea of playing him with Embiid but I doubt it'd work.

Now, I've been impressed with the Pels so far, but maybe Brandon Ingram becomes available if things aren't working towards the deadline. I have planted my flag in the sixers need a longboi camp.

Anyway thats all I got. I hope this leads to good discussion with the other weirdos who are checking their phone in bed now and can't sleep.

PG and Kawhi, like, 3 am. this one basically midnight. Lawrence Frank does a thing. Maybe I'm not paying attention to the time big moves happen usually for other teams. But I have like work tomorrow and I can't sleep, and I'm also a 30 year old man who has to go pretend to still enjoy Halloween tomorrow. And now I can't sleep because I am now feeling excited like tomorrow is Christmas but also the day I might be executed.

Lawrence Frank is an A**hole

I.e. players that you think will show out and you're hyping up. Players you're high on where a lot of people are low. They don't have to be hot takes, maybe Lukewarm takes? Players you're essentially hyping up. they can be players who have been good but have recently caught a lot of flack and you think people are underrating, or players you think will take a massive leap that no one else does. It's cool if you have a lot of players from your team.

I have a lot. Mine are:

Kawhi

Trae Young

Aaron Gordon

Bones Hyland

Rui Hachimura

Devin Vassell

Tyrese Haliburton

We could also do reverse agendas of players you think will disappoint a lot of people this year but I don't like that as much because I actually like Basketball players.
