I was considering the porcelain Seiko, but I don't like the look of thicker watches on leather straps and the date threw me off. My girlfriend also bought me a Cocktail time so I put it on hold, but without the date, it's such a cool dress watch that I'm considering it again.

Regarding the Santos too, I usually prefer super thin and dressy watches, so I thought I'd like the Dumont. Turns out I didn't really like the flat, square silhouette with a leather strap, so I tried the normal medium Santos and absolutely fell in love with it. So that's definitely a watch I'll be getting eventually as well.

That's the porcelain dial Seiko right? How is that watch?

btw, I have a pretty weird type myself. Asymmetrical dials, The Nomos Metro Date Power Reserve, Lange 1 and Ressence type 1s are some of my favorite watches and I don't know what it is, they just really leave me in awe.

I'm pretty sure the majority of the world's most popular watches have a date complication?

Some people don't like that it breaks the symmetry of the watch when it's on a side though.

Just look at something like the Sinn 556. A minimalist, super solid watch with 200m WR that can be used on any occasion.

Nomos has a lot of appeal in the brand itself as well. A young, independent watchmaker with amazingly finished in-house movements that keep to older, traditional Bauhaus designs. They also have some creative, new designs in the same style as the Metro Date Power Reserve, Zurich World Time, and Lambda.
